Was thinking the same boss, no way would a top player look at that as a desirable way to play. If he did go it would be the biggest mistake of his career imo, he would have any attacking desire knocked out of him 'hold the ball, play a safe short pass, don't run at them to much or we lose shape'

Anyway he is off to Bayern imo so it matters not.

And to be honest, I think United bought the wrong left back from Monaco as Mendy's clearly better than Martial ;-)

In terms of United I don't think it is playing this negative in this kind of game that will cost them this season, this is what jose does sets up to not lose big games whilst bullying the rest of the league. They have gone wrong with not being able to beat/bully the shit teams.

The difference is imo their tactics are not to hard to master if your players are willing to do exactly what you say and not express themselves at all. We work to a higher standard to put it one way and this requires reasonably specific types of player with a specific mindset. We look specifically for players with a strong mentality who are confident with the ball at feet in confined spaces/under pressure, good with short passes and sound tactical understanding of the game.

They are a block of lard, we are a perfectly clarified consomme infused with fine botanicals, one takes skill and time to master, the other, not so much.
