Schweinsteiger going to Chicago Fire?! WTF is that about? A lousy club with an even lousier owner in a stadium that's basically considered a big mistake. Hopefully, it will give their long suffering fans hope....

We've played some good stuff this year but haven't converted our chances. Each to their own but after Van Gaal an quite immune to this pretentious nonsense about how the game should be played.
You've not played any good stuff at all. Your football has been turgid.

Seriously, I mean seriously? For a generation the GPC brainwashed fans and press alike about the stature of your club and having to only play one way and now it's pretentious nonsense? Most rags I know hate it but tolerate it as you're not getting beat as often. It's dire, turgid stuff and you'd switch off watching another team playing it. If he's not winning titles/CLs within a year he'll be gone, that's what always happens with him, punters can only accept watching such defensive football if it's bringing trophies.

What I find pretentious is this constant talk about manager philosophies and how idealistic a lot of the football world has become, whereas being pragmatic at times is almost sneered at. For example I didn't understand Guardiola's post-match comments or tactics in the Monaco game last week. There was no need go ultra-negative and camp in your own box for the whole game but surely there was a happy medium to be found, perhaps start Yaya in midfield to give Fernandinho some support.

Essentially you want your team to win leagues and cups, to do that you need to more goals then your opponents and to do that at the highest levels you need to play to a decent standard. Like I said we've played some good football at times this year but apart from Ibrahimovic we lack that clinical edge. After almost 3 decades under one manager it's natural that people are going to associate the club with a certain style. Ferguson generally liked wide players whereas Mourinho likes a strong CF in the Costa, Drogba, Zlatan mould.

And a back 6 or 7.

Rag training session - Today it's tactics.

And a back 6 or 7.
For the last 15 minutes in anticipation of them bringing on Gestede next to Negredo and going direct. And it worked because they created virtually nothing, with the goal they scored coming from a Smalling mistake. Also got to factor in how it was our third game in six days and fatigue has been showing in recent weeks.
