Who's the keyboard warrior?
I couldn't agree more. For the most part, we have struggled to dominate like we have all become accustomed to. Things need changing, I'm not quite sure what....that's not my job. I used to thrill at the sight of City building an attack, now I feel as if our attack is muted, dare I say, boring. Change is required.
That being said, they wanted it more today and that's a fucking shame.
If we had the best player on the planet for each position, we would not steamroller the rest every single year. 15 or 16 Prem clubs have a billionaire/multibillionaire owner and can afford top players. We're in an era when it's harder to dominate. In Manure's pomp, there was them, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. That was it. No-one else could afford top players - save Blackburn for two years.I couldn't agree more. For the most part, we have struggled to dominate like we have all become accustomed to. Is it also the case that the level we have been at for the past two seasons has caused some burn-out amongst the players? It was almost two seasons without a break as we had so many players at the 2018 world Cup.
Also, while it might not be right to judge the players after the last two seasons it's particularly galling that the dippers look set to break our points record from 2018 and possibly the combined 198 points from two seasons.
Someone tell me, how does Sergio's strike rate this season compare to any of his previous seasons with us ? Has to be right up there. I saw Sergio winning all his leg races today. Had we won 2 - 0 with 28 per cent possession at home, today, as a result of one blatant act of cheating, with fewer shots on target, any reasonable commentator would say we got lucky. They parked the bus and played like Burnley, but they have half a billion pounds worth of players to choose from. Yes, we were not at our best, smothered by the bus, but were far and away the better team.
They needed it more and it showed ? A team picked from a half a billion pound squad that hits long balls and relied on an act of blatant cheating to score. They needed it more and it showed. No matter how professional you are, it's going to be hard to play full pelt when there are other
competitions that mean more, at this moment in time.
Our style of play is shot to bits. It's not working anymore. Our attacking play breaks down far too much too often and too easily. Our passing is laboured from front to back. Our wide payers have stopped making runs/movement off the ball. Our 2 CM's are happy playing sideways and backward passes. It's just not gelling together. Until we can re discover that razor sharp, Precise, crisp, passing and movement then this season has the potential to fizzle out.
