United (A) Post Match Thread

I don’t get all the doom and gloom.
We are definitely changing as a team.
The loss of Silva and a recognised striker for several months has obviously had an impact on us scoring goals freely.
However, the arrival of Diaz and Ake combined with the return to form of Stones means we have become a very difficult team to break down. This will stand us in good stead especially in Europe.
I think we will regain sharpness up top as soon as Kun is back and will go on a really good run.
Personally I think this is a stronger team than last year.
The best is yet to come..

I've calculated we can probably lose another five or six, drawing a couple more, and still be at the business end of around 80 points.
I don't think we'll lose another 5 or 6, in fact it might only be 1 or 2, and getting draws against those who are our close rivals is a positive because it takes points off them, we obviously need to win one or two as well, but I'm still not worried at this stage, not many are playing well, and those that are over performing will fall away I suspect.

The best is behind us mate

It would be great if he starts letting us in on it.....
Maybe, but that lets the opposition know. The tactics yesterday were spot on against a team whose strength is counter attack and who park the bus at home cos the centre of their defence is crap.. Not Peps fault if we miss chances. With a top class striker we would have won 2 nil.
We needed to buy a striker but none were available at a decent price, according to the club. Txiki, come on.

I think there is an element of blue tints in that summary,it wasnt just the striker that didnt score, the best opportunities fell to his support acts.....do we replace them all? or do we choose a better starting 11,a better plan A?

I'm far from convinced Pep got his tactics right, that game was for the taking and we failed to exploit them.

A point against that shower of shite is as good as Liverpool's against Fulham but I bet folk aren't saying what a good result that is for them.

I agree, and if we'd gone at them gung ho, missed a sackful of chances, and then conceded on the break and lost, this thread would likely have an extra 50 pages by now.
