United (A) Post Match Thread

I would have played Foden and Torres and had aguero on bench to come non

Why play him mid week and not today ?

bernado ??

United had fuck all to worry about today .

played for a draw and for one. Falling further behind

only one team wanted to win and sadly they never played in blue.

Aguero was fit enough to play 20 mins in a dead rubber mid week and that about sums it up.. don’t let his goal cloud where he is at in terms of fitness... not even close enough or anywhere near the sharpness required for a competitive league game let alone a derby. Just trust the manager on that as he would have included him if he was remotely near ready.

utd had fuck all to worry about? if they had something to worry about though it doesn’t necessarily mean we would have won they may have had loads to worry about for 90 mins but left the game 3 nill up. Which is exactly what they set up for.

On this occasion Pep didn’t give them what they expected and I believe got this right. Bar the offiside penalty call we never looked remotely close conceding but created a few chances.. if one goes in.. fantastic.. we win if not? Then we are drawing that game.. that game was 65% draw, 25% city win and 10% utd win. It was controlled. It was a decent disciplined performance given the context of the league this year.

Well thank god I worked this early evening so didn’t watch the game.

For me we won’t win the league, I think Pep is out of ideas for this team, but it’s his team so his fault.

Think we will finish 4th or lower, then he has a decision to make..

We have improved hugely at the back though Ederson for me is a concern as seems to have a cock up per game in him but the same issues in midfield and up front have been there for years now with no improvement.
Rodri is just not suited to the PL. We have zero pace there and teams with inferior technically players but who have energy just seem to walk past our midfield. Going forward the midfield offers nothing and we have players who are horribly out of form and just not clinical enough up front. Finishing has been an issue for years, strangely even after we scored over 100 goals a season, we still missed sitters no other team seem to miss. Last season was horrific and this even worse.
in a tight game there is no one in the team you would hope the big chance falls to as none are clinical. Our missed penalties sums it up, is it mental weakness or are the players not at the top level required.
The other issue we have not addressed is our woeful set pieces. Teams not playing well ie Dippers can win a game on a set piece yet wether it’s a throw in, free kick or corner I would say we are the worst in the entire football pyramid at them, and given how technically good our players are, it’s just shocking how we don’t take more advantage as often we can rack up double figures in corners alone per game. Foden took some nice corners in mid week but he has to be on the pitch to do so.
next game, West Bron, we should win, but again I bet it’s the usual 70% possession, 16 shots but woeful finishing with 5 on target, 10 corners and the game tighter than it should be.
I agree mate.
Last season Kev created ONE HUNDRED GOAL SCORING CHANCES yet he only equalled Henri's 20 assists.
I know my fractions so it means we were sloppy at converting.
Yet we come off the pitch tonight celebrating clean fucking sheets.
Who's the manager Pep or Pearce?

We just got a point and a clean sheet away against a title contender (yes, I said it) who have beaten us in 3 of the last 4 games we've played.

Get a grip people. I'd like to see some of you call Pep a coward to his face, just because you don't like his tactics.

Fucking entitled keyboard warriors piss me right off.

Fair points these mate but your last sentence is irony gold.

that’s not the point we had our best two creative midfielders on the bench and they stayed sat on the bench.

a draw against the rags or indeed the scousers are good results at the right time of the season when it’s needed at the moment we have quite a gap to close and I felt we should have been more attacking and positive and gone for a win.

So you wanted us away over commit and fall into the scums tactics? At the moment with only 11 games gone getting us solid and getting the players confidence up is more important a loss would of been disastrous! I say again why is no one on here or in the media pointing out the scum for who were at home never once went for it! Sorry you falling into the media Neville narrative it’s all city’s fault for that bore fest!

Neville a **** and loves setting the narrative with city he should concentrate on his 500m team who were happy to sit in not over commit at home it’s them who are the shit houses.
Neville is a **** i agree, but he is correct about us at the moment regardless of any narrative.
