United (A) Post Match Thread

If we had gone gung ho, then got caught on the counter with them scoring and we lost, everyone would be going mad and saying is he thick? Does he never learn?
Well he did learn and we totally nullified any chance they had. What Pep can't do is control how Sterling plays. He can't do anything about Jesus, Mahrez and KDB missing easy chances. Yes I would have liked Phil on and us having a go. But, I think he got the tactics right.

We are grinding it out at the minute and just about hanging in there.

Yes but the fact that everyone accepts that that would constitute a penalty in the first place is making a mockery of football.

Football is going to shite.
yeah i dont disagree with you.....

Is it a foul......by the standards of what constitutes a foul these days then yes it was......

But an incident like that shouldnt ever be considered a foul no matter who is playing and governing bodies need to look at this (but its been like this for 15-20 years at least) - football has vitrually become a non contact sport

I'm happy with that and you know why? Fuck Solskjaer, Mourinho, Rodgers and the rest of the top managers who hide behind a low block against City. Why should City always be the team taking all the risk? Fuck it, don't take the risks, don't concede, take a point and then keep beating the weaker teams that they occasionally slip up to. Over a season we've a better chance to come out on top than if we keep walking into these traps. The top of the league clashes will become boring but fuck it, why is it City and Pep's responsibility to be the entertainment?

I'll change some of what I said.

I like that Pep has changed the way we play. We have all called for a plan B or a change in the possession based play.

The problem is that he doesn't have the players up front to carry it out.

Playing defensive, Mourinho type football only works if u take the few chances you have and our front three miss more than they score.

Next season with new striker and box to box midfielder this set up will be much better.

Every time Foden doesn't start he must be looking at other clubs...fuckin big yawn
If you don’t think he’ll start thinking fuck this sooner or later you’re naive mate. Not to worry though, let’s keep watching Pep try and justify spunking £60million on Mahrez at the expense of the best young player in the country.

Could I just quietly suggest that we cut Pep a bit of slack on one point — his English. Criticise him all you like for his approach to the game. I personally think his refusal to make substitutions round about the sixty-minute mark is close to criminal (and specifically the refusal to play the one man to whom this match means everything). But when he said “It's not a derby”, he clearly means, in context, it's not a real derby without the fans. And in that, at least, he's absolutely right.
