United (A) Post Match Thread

Hilarious rag theory either way
Liverpool held off because United had lost their heads and looked like they could seriously injure someone so they played in front of them.

City have been hurt by United comebacks before, and we always try and draw teams out (and if we were a bit more clinical had at least two excellent chances we should have buried).

I don't think they care about Ole, but it's two teams who were able to manage the game to an extent that they could dictate how the game was played and had two or three more gears to go up as and when needed which is damning in its own way.

It was discussed on here a few years after our guys had been in charge. It became clear to us that there was, and is, a long term plan with joined up thinking and a style of play, which includes a reruitment plan operated by football and money men. It's the total opposite over there.

Also, there was a rags training video on here that featured their version of the 'rondo. it was reflected in their 'press' yesterday - most of the players just couldn't be arsed - not their job.

They are light years away.

It's wonderful. Fellow Blues who remember the post-Busby era at the Swamp will no doubt have already noticed that history appears to be repeating itself over there in Stretford. I haven't seen a rag team as bad as this one since the likes of Ian Ure & Co played for them.
Ian Ure that's a blast from the past..I remember him fouling Franny in the League cup semi 1st leg at Maine Road and Franny smashed in the pen..
He was a dirty twat..

They were never satisfied with winning everything, they had to belittle us at every opportunity too.

That's why I hate them so much and why no mercy should ever be shown to that shitstain of a club and their brain dead gutless fans. That banner alone was enough to make me hate them. Never forget at that time they were light years ahead of us due to pulling away during our yo yo years in the lower leagues and the new premier league and nailed on champions league money every year. They were winning trophy after trophy and while it's fine to give your closest rivals some stick that was below the belt.

Then we had Ferguson's sneering contempt for us. His noisy neighbours and not in my lifetime comments sum him up perfectly. A bully fine when he's picking on a weaker opponent who can't fight back. As soon as we could he did what all bullies do, he skulked off crying it's not fair anymore.

As for their fans the majority are glory hunters who latched onto their success to make their own inadequate lives appear better. They thought it would never end. They stood on a sugar pedestal of glamour and glory with no solid foundation and now the rain has melted it away they are lost.

Never show them mercy or pity they deserve none

What would The Bottler tell us constitutes a trip as outlined in the LotG? HTF was that not a trip and consequently a penalty for the trip on Jesus. We just have blatant pens waved away, and today we were luckier than usual 'cos we got a fuckin' corner out of it. It just beggars belief!

Oh yes and the relegation season in 1974 when for a long time the goalkeeper Alex Stephney was their leading scorer because he took the penalties.

Don't think the piss can gives a flying f**k for his former employers, every subsequent management failure increases the man's legend. I don't worry about the bus company I worked for for thirty years, don't suppose he worries about United he was an employee not a fan.
As for me today feels f*****g wonderful don't think I'll stop smiling till the spring. Rags looking pig sick in the pub last night blues wearing foolish grins.
He definitely cares. He can't have someone come in and achieve more than he did or even get close. He doesn't want the club to win any more trophies so the media keep banging on about him and his time there.

His ego is out of this world, its exactly why he got involved with Ronaldo so the headlines read "GPC makes private call to convince Ronaldo"

Watched the game again today but on a foreign with English commentators so much better and weird how I could hear the city fans all game singing but yesterday on sky didn’t hear them once! So is a thing they do now turn down the away fans singing?

Not had a chance to run through the thread but, having been to the game, there’s one thing I’ve got to credit the rags for. The walk towards the stadium and the area surrounding it is intimidating as fuck. They haven’t lost the old school feel in the surrounding area with the pubs and chippys on Matt Busby way.

Granted, it’s a side-product of their owners having zero interest in the redevelopment of the area (noticed a fair bit of wasteland and dereliction adjacent to the ground), but it’s a positive all the same.

I hate the walk in, I hate the walk out. Hasn’t changed in the 15 or so years since I first went to OT.

Loved the two hours inside though :-)
You wouldn't have liked 1974 then, although the 2 hours inside the ground were fun!

It was clear yesterday on Sky as soon as the final whistle went and the booing started, the statium sounds was turned off. I have never noticed it before but it was so obvious yesterday, booing than silence. Ok not 100% silent but the booing was 'taken out'

Yes. I watched it live on a stream that was not sky and you could hear the City fans loud and clear for most of the match but have seen a few comments on twitter that you could not hear the city fans. Strange.

I managed to get through the whole match without checking what was going on!! Felt a bit like the episode of the Likely Lads where they didn't want the England score!!

I thought I might jinx the team and I get so nervous on Derby Day I feel physically sick some of the time!!

BUT WE KNOCKED 'EM OUT OF THE PARK. WE KNOCKED 'EM INTO KINGDOM COME!!
Due to a night shift I slept through the whole game. It was strangely therapeutic as I am generally nervous about derbies thanks to pre take over history. Woke up, checked the score and was extremely happy. Thanks City for helping me through the peculiar hell that is night working. I can now look forward to watching the whole game in comfort later.

Potter or Rodgers would be their best bet but I see them going for a bigger name like Zidane if they sack Ole.

The one thing I’ll say about Brighton and Leicester is that they are both well coached sides. They have a plan and patterns to their game which is why they are decent sides to watch. I also think that is why Pep rates them so highly as well.

I suppose the big question mark would be whether they can handle big egos. If they can, then they’d be a good replacement for managers at any of the top PL clubs.
Do you mean Harry or Ted? Mind you, either would be an improvement.

Enjoy. Do you sit and watch in your City go to match clothes with your scarf on?

I do, even yesterday in avoidance, I had my go to the match clothes, minus the coat of course, but with the scarf!! Nowt so queer as folk as my old Gran used to say. :-)
