United (A) Post Match Thread

What's your point? If an offence is committed by a defender in the penalty area a penalty should be awarded. Each referee does not have a quota of penalties to award. Gabby was clearly fouled and a penalty should have been awarded. Not seeing the foul on Jesus is as clear and obvious an error as there can be, and I think quite a few posters on here would be interested to know what you saw which constituted the referees reason not to give it. Perhaps you could also explain the relevance of the number of penalties given for and against us in the last ten years to the particular case of the penalty not awarded to City on Saturday.
your point was that shitloads of penalties last year and they all went to the rags - but we get plenty, some very soft ones at home imo.

lets just leave it then - i dont think it was an error that warranted overturning using VAR and you do.

Actually I’ve just this week renewed my contract with BT and now I’m getting a load of SKY channels so I guess I’m now contributing whether I like it or not! Of course it doesn’t include SKY Sports but I have my ways! ;-)

As for my pension I’ve gotta save some for my funeral! Or maybe an 81st party seeing as we weren’t allowed gatherings for my 80th? Which do you think I should aim for? ;-). Do you think Dunnie and VK would come to a party? ;-)
You are 80 EB? One of the finest Blues of all time

Like all their fans a complete and utter knob.
I thought he’d already been outed and he’d agreed, he’s just some nerdy twat from Nottingham that doesn’t support the rags, spotted a market and set up as what he is now. Just shows what a sorry 600mil strong bunch of bandwagon, glory hunting freaks they really are.

Not sure but I'm sure Rooney would:-)

Sorry, respect to EB.

Read the post again. The point is that referees have to make decisions on the merits of each case. If that means 120 penalties a season then there can be no complaints. On Saturday there was no identifiable contact with the ball and certainly none which altered the course taken by the ball and the contact with Silva's boot counts as a second movement and is a foul anyway. VAR's failure to correct the clear and obvious error is thus a mystery which is reminiscent of the failure to spot or remedy the clear error in the Southampton game last season when Foden was flattened. Where the history comes in is also in the failure to give penalties to unfashionable clubs penalties while unjustifiable penalties have been awarded and confirmed for dives by Salah and non-fouls on rags. Going back to last Saturday tell us all what you didn't see, and when you didn't see it. And what the error was and why it did not warrant overturning.
