United and Liverpool EFL project - proposal rejected

I assume it’s continual stay, however, it still sounds shite and I have no interest in it. The £20 away tickets and safe standing have been thrown in as a sweetener, but it’s a hard no from me.

Interestingly, for all those City knockers claiming we have no history, we are 6th in "seasons in top division" table with 91 seasons out of 121

Only Everton 117, Villa 106, Liverpool 105, Arsenal 103 and the rags 95 have more than us

They are playing with fire. Turkey’s voting for Christmas and all that. Many fans have been priced out of football and were disillusioned in recent years anyway. Add in FFP (not just City fans, everyone has opinion from us seeing it as quashing competition to fans of other clubs hacked off because UEFA could make our ban stick) and VAR, you have additional conversations I was Party to amongst many fans about football not being the same. Then there’s Coronavirus. If and when there is a vaccine a lot of fans will simply have got out of the habit of attending football games at extortionate prices. There is already evidence that in some countries where fans have been allowed to return, take up is low.

In my honest opinion I think a sizeable minority of fans are going to abandon the game whilst the established elite clubs and subscription broadcasters fail to notice and carry on rearranging the deckchairs.

This looks like a work of fiction and doesn't make sense.

Why would Man Utd and Liverpool want to give away fans more tickets at less cost?

Sounds fucking awful some them proposal jesus christ. Amercians will lap them up though, same with VAR.

"Later Premier League start in August to give greater scope for pre-season friendlies, and requirement for all clubs to compete once every five years in a summer Premier League tournament"

Thats what we need more friendlies in the States and the far east....
Audi Cup, Yamaha Trophy, Mr Noodle Plate.
Just making more money in a meaningless "trophy" so the customers in Singapore, Hong Kong, China or wherever have the chance to share the glory of lifting a piece of silverware that means nowt.

B teams which Sorriano brought up a few days ago would be the final nail in the coffin for a lot of lower league fans.

If we as a club and I've little doubt we will agree given the Soriano shit the other day about B teams, its another nail in the coffin

It's a fucking bribe. Like the EFL loan.

I've been saying for years that, one day, the US owners will make a power grab and this appears to be it. They can't get the 14 votes they need for the changes they want so this is their alternative line of attack.

I've no problem with the PL being 18 clubs and I'd even back the League Cup being resticted to teams not playing in Europe that season (not least on the grounds that one club would then get a European slot without competition from the clubs already in Europe). But there's only one group of teams that this will benefit in the longer term and that's the US owned clubs.

A power-grab by the American-owned clubs with the offer of short-term financial gain to buy off the authorities and lower-league clubs. In the long term the intention is obviously for these American-owned clubs to run PL football. Good luck with that.

You've hit the nail on the head there, this is nothing other than a takeover of our national game by a bunch of dangerous idiots who sponsor Trump and the racist actions of the US government.
