United Away Sold Out

Bit off topic but as a season card holder with 2640 points how long would it be before I'd be able to get a ticket for the away derby? Baring in mind everyone else with more points than me will be gaining ground on me all the time, so to speak. Just as an indication I go to maybe 3/4 aways per season, usually the later stages of cup competitions (for travel and personal reasons). Any help appreciated, blues.

A fairer loyalty system wouldn't award any "loyalty" points for the high demand games. That would at least make it a little easier to catch up.

Take this situation for instance, i got 10 points (i think) for travelling all the way to Romania for the Timi game, yet got 50 points for the bloody home game. Yeah nice one. Surely you should get more for the away game?

the people who have the tickets are those who have enough points, and have done all the shit games, like pompey 5.30 on a saturday night, villa away when there was 900 blues, those who have been to birmingham in recent years where we never sell out, the ones who paid 47 quid at tottenham on a tuesday night, the ones who went basically when we were shit.

it's a great system, best we have ever had.

On the whole I tend to agree with the system, but I don't really agree with your post...

I've had a season ticket since I was 11 (12 years ago) but I only started going home and away when I was 18, because before then I couldn't afford it. And I live 160 miles away from CoMs. Since then (last season under Pearce) I've barely missed any games. The most I probably missed was Hughes' last season, but even then it must have been 4 or 5 aways. Not missed one this season, and only missed two last year, but I still had a ticket for Burnley, but was too fucked from a night out to go.

But of course, all this doesn't matter.

I think the rules need to be altered slightly - I don't want to make out like I'm the most best loyal City fan ever, but there's supporters who have about 4/5 years on me. And of course I've got 4/5 years on kids now who are 18. I could fuck off going to City home and away for 2 or 3 years and I'd still have more points that lads going now - which I think is wrong.

i remember when i was you age, 1988-89 i was a 1st year season ticket holder, we drew brentford away in the cup, i had been all over with city that season, but because i was only a 1st year season ticket holder, the tickets sold out to regular season ticket holders, i was gutted at the time, but i couldnt argue, the system at the time rewarded those with season tickets longer than me.

loyalty points recognises the matches you have been to, why should they be nullified because you have to miss a few.

i never understand why if you cannot get in the city end the lack of willingness to go in the home stands, if you want to go, you get in, i have been in the home ends of 20 odd grounds, including every stand at old trafford.

You contradict yourself.

The Timi away game is relatively high demand, the home game won't be, especially if we win away, therefore maybe they have it about right ? They want to attract people to the home game so give a bigger incentive.

You've been very fair and honest.

But why should branches be able to pre-order tickets for their members?

Everyone made the effort to go down and queue up today. Then we were told sold out. Fair enough. Then a branch member in the middle of queue picks up a job lot of tickets that have been pre-ordered. But non-branch members are exempt form pre-ordering their ticket/s, even though they have the same amount of loyalty points as branch members. It just stuck in my throat today mate.

Because that is the way the club do it. I guess that they see the supporters club as an official arm of the football club, and its one of the (very very few) benefits of being a supporters club member. Its one of the reasons I joined one, I saw it as an incentive, as it allows me to sit with my mates at away games (when I go), and its only ever this game that people complain about it, none will be complaining about it for Tuesday nights game I expect. The rules apply to all the games.

Cleavers.

The thing is.

Everybody doesn't want to join a supporters branch. Many supporters like me are quite happy driving to away games, with partners or friends.

Regardless. Just because you're aren't a branch member, that shouldn't mean you're at a disadvantage when it comes to away tickets. The playing field should be level, for branch and none branch members. Currently it isn't.

Branch members get the chance to pre-order thier tickets through/via their secretary. Non-branch members can't pre-order their tickets. It isn't allowed. Why? If I have the same or more loyalty points than a branch member, why am I and others not being allowed to pre-order our tickets, just like branch members?.

BTW. I have nothing against branch members. I just want a fair crack of the whip.

Thanks for the input. I like the loyalty points system, but for younger blues like myself it can sometimes be a right pain.

In all honesty. Not in your lifetime. Ask your relatives to spread your ashes on the Old Trafford pitch. That's the only chance you'll get to see a derby at OT. Sorry mate. :-(

That's preposterous! If my ashes are buried anywhere it'll be in the centre circle at CoMS!
