United Away Sold Out

Sorry misread your post, I thought you were talking about the Aris game.

It was nigh on impossible to get to Timi at reasonable cost, and I can't remember how many tickets we were actually offered.

However City offered the points for the home game to get a decent home crowd, I do agree that those who made the journey deserved more than 10.

There were ways of doing it cheaply, it just involved long train journeys to get there. The away end we were in was about 10-20% full (at most), so had more people shown interest we would have taken more.

I think an improved loyalty system needs to reward the away games with low demand more than say United/Chelsea/Arsenal away games. Games that go on open sale year in year out should offer higher points for example.

Also. I think midweek away games should get more loyalty points. I also think PL and Cup loyalty points should be split. Those that attend more cup matches should get first chance of a cup final ticket, Europa ticket, etc. Depending on their cup points.

The whole sytem needs looking at and a complete overhaul is needed.

The OSC's might be part of the club(?), but there is no requirement to join them. At a guess, I'd say would there are more none members, than members.

The point I'm making is about a level playing field. Just because you're not a member of a supporters club, that shouldn't weight against you when applying for away tickets, especially if they are difficult to come by.
(United away)

Again my point being. If an OSC can pre-order derby tickets for it's members under 4500 points. (for today) And pick them up. Why can't I and other none OSC members do the same thing? Why are we banned from doing that, just because we're not in a branch.

Let's have a level playing field for OSC and none OSC members.

As I said ask the club. They clearly think that being a member of the supporters club is worth something, and while they don't ask you to join they offer you an incentive, this is it.

However I'll repeat, its only this game that ever brings the subject up, why is that ? For any other game there doesn't seem to be a problem with it happening, other games do sell out. I guess your complaint is more because you didn't get one this time, rather than actually campaigning for a so called "better system", which is fair enough.

No. I can accept missing out, if it's fair. (please don't throw that at me) But what I saw today, it does stick in the throat. Obviously we won't agree. That said, there's no need for our conversation to go down hill.

Oh, BTW. I'll forward my ideas and gripes on to City. At least I've tried. :-)

Plenty of tickets left for Birmingham and Aris(away and home) though. At least I'll be able chose a seat. Lol!

I agree about the United/Chelsea/Arsenal games having less points on them than those that rarely sell out.

It wasn't going downhill jrb, I was just putting the side for the supporters club that's all. I can see why the club do what they do, but I've been a chairman of a supporters club, and I know that the people involved in running them are just as loyal as those who are not involved in supporters clubs.

I think its just another system of allocating tickets, and I don't see any problem with it. I'd love to know how many tickets have gone to supporters clubs for this game, but I'd bet its less than has gone to corporates (I bet its under 150 in total), and that is where I'd put my biggest gripes, but money talks....

Another way of looking at it is way do we award loyalty points at all for away games in the league, City make nothing what so ever from away games, might be an idea to award more for home games in league and cups.

TBH I've been in one or two branches for very short periods of time over the years. It's just not my thing TBH. But I know those that are members are just as loyal as none members. The gripe isn't with them, unless the system is being abused.(that's another 'true' story ;-) ) It's with the system that the club uses. In my 'opinion' the loyalty system and the way away tickets are allocated needs looking at again. Perhaps it needs a complete overhaul? Everything about the club and football in general has moved on, apart from our loyalty system. As I've said, that's 'my' opinion. Others will probably disagree. Time for a few scoops. :-)

If any of the hierarchy of the ticket office, or supporters club, know how many derby tickets were allocated to supporters club members, I'm sure we'd all love to know.

I suspect the actual number is quite small, and that a lot of the complainants about this part of the system are assuming its near the 1000's rather than near 100-150 which would be my guess, and if you'd care to tell us how many are corporate etc etc, I suspect its many more, I'd guess 3 or 4 times more.

Some ideas.

More loyalty points for matches further away. Like a large circle. The further the away match, the more loyalty points. The closer the away match, the less you get.

More loyalty points for midweek away matches. (always a ball ache. time off work, etc)

More loyalty points for cup games.(home and away) This might tempt more people to attend.

PL and Cup loyalty points to be spilt. Cup loyalty points to go towards cup final tickets only. PL loyalty points for PL away matches and home matches.

A complete review of how away tickets are allocated.

A review of how OSC and non-OSC members are allocated tickets, etc.

Just a few ideas. Again. Some people won't agree, but that's fair enough.
