United game postponed due to bomb scare

Pretty much the way I see it. But also that United - knowing they don't have a case against this guy - have bullied him into taking the blame by making him think they would sue him for millions if he didn't. Shame he fell for it.

Thanks Dubai for your earlier input.

Something else I don't get, if they are training handlers not the dogs and the dogs can't sniff the devices, why put the devices out? Aren't they just taking the dogs for a walk ?

Trying to piece all this together it would appear roughly to be-

Fairly new dog training company in Wales, Deacon Canines wants to organise a training day.
They hire the 100 Suite at OT for the event and invite the Security Company from down south for their assistance.
The Security guy brings 15 dummy devices to the event.
The key here is what security did he go thro when he entered OT, how did OT satisfy themselves these were dummies.
They run the exercise and he distributes only 14 as one is tucked away under the flap of his bag. He only gets 13 back and the other one rolls out from under the flap and he thinks he has 14 back.
They all leave OT, again what checks were made on him as he left the building.
Cleaner flushes all the loo's but doesn't notice hung behind the door, we all do this.
VIPs arrive Sunday and one goes to the loo, shuts the door and hey presto..........

So who picks up the £5 million tab. His insurance company will say he made a simple mistake and they are not responsible for securing OT on the match day that falls to Utd.

For me it was a simple mistake , however only one organisation must take full responsibility..................MUFC.
Was it not United who got Deacon Canines to provide training for United's security people and stewards?
I would have thought if Deacon were doing their own training event, they'd do it somewhere cheaper and more local to them in Wales.

The media today says that the actual cubicle WAS searched by United security before the crowd was let in on Sunday but they missed the 'bomb'.

It was only found 20 minutes before KO by a spectator.

That has to be the real worry because if you do not even have to hide a bomb to let it sit there for days and pass a security check then we all have big trouble.

An enquiry into all stadium/entertainment venue security everywhere really should be happening now under government orders. So why are they just happily accepting the blame all lies with the buffoon who owned the fake bombs?

His error is far less important than what happened next because a real terrorist would likely be not a buffoon.

Cannot figure out why nobody in the media has seen the real story here beyond the great evacuation that luckily went smoothly or the twerp who admitted it was his fault that the device was left there.

Only Ladyman in the Mail has asked the sort of questions of United in his piece yesterday as being asked on here.

They go to the heart of real security not just at OT but everywhere.

Correct WDB although a relatively new company they have worked with Utd in the past, so this could have been a joint exercise. This adds a further question if Utd were involved in the Suite on the Wednesday training, then on the Sunday someone advises of a device held where they had done the training 3 days prior, why nobody connected the two. ?
