United game postponed due to bomb scare

I agree the most significant thing here is that the media - who if it is City never let any trivial thing rest - do not seem to give a hoot any more.

Someone, somewhere must have as much doubt as many of us do that this confession is the start and end of the story. But nobody is even bothering to ask questions any more.

On Sunday when we have to protect everyone at the Etihad for an England v Turkey game (a terrorist dream fixture) if anything tiny goes wrong then there will be a government enquiry and questions in the house.

Nobody at United has been asked or has answered why something like this fake bomb could sit in a hospitality area of a place open to the public every day or in the build up to a 75,000 crowd attending for four days without anyone finding it.

That has repercussions far beyond United. For all grounds. For cinemas, entertainment complexes etc etc.

We have to find out why this happened and stop it happening again.

So why everyone is seemingly disinterested in the media because some twerp has said it was all his fault I do not know.

The fact something was there might be his fault.

The fact nobody found it was very much not his fault and is really the thing that actually matters here.

Correct. The security guy is guilty of a mistake Utd are guilty of gross negligence. How Utd can be lauded for a smooth evacuation they should be held up for a disgraceful breach of security that could have endangered many supporters.

Questions for Ed Woodward -

Why have United not apologised yet to 77000 customers.
What due diligence did they do on Deacon Canines.
Were they aware Deacons sub contracted work.
What due diligence did they do on the security guy.
Were they aware he was bringing 15 dummy bombs into the ground. This is a key question and should have been escalated to the highest level within OT.
How did they satisfy themselves they were indeed dummy bombs.
Did they agree to the bombs being distributed around the ground.
Were they aware of the locations.
What arrangements were made to meet the security guy when he arrived and what checks were made.
Did they count how many devices he had.
What arrangements were made for him when he left the ground, for example were the devices counted.
Why wasn't the device discovered when they tidied up the suite or indeed the following four days.
Why wasn't the device discovered on the full sweep of the ground on match day.

The U.K. is currently listed as Severe as regards potential terrorist activity. The negligence and cavalier attitude shown by MUFC should act us a wake up call to all venues throughout the UK. The press should not pander to Utd and be afraid of highlighting this.

If that is true, there should be a criminal investigation. When I heard it had been found in a bog in a hospitality suite, I was thinking how it could possibly have been missed. The only logical conclusion was it could have been an infrequently used staff toilet in a back-of-house area. Although it highlights poor security procedures, I can see how easy it is to be missed on a security sweep if the staff didn't close the door behind them.

Now it is apparently a rag fan who found it, an hour before kick-off - strapped to a bog door? I'm sorry, but that is bollocks! I'm guessing the hospitality suite will open at least three hours before kick-off, and will be full of people on corporate freebies trying to make the most of the free grub and booze on offer from their hosts. At two o'clock on the last day of the season, those khazis would have been like Oxford Circus (with a few more Cockneys); there is no way on earth that any of the people that put their arses on that bog seat could have missed that if it had been there for four days. That dummy bomb must have been placed intentionally, moments before it was discovered, and that is a criminal act.

Most will be in there sniffing coke off the seat, so not in a position to view the back of the door.

So ask him or her then and ask him or her if there is a cover up going on as people's security is slightly more important than the rags share price

He's a blue & says it stinks but as a bobby just gets told what to do, not close to anything else. Is very critical of how amateur it is & the risk it could be to the public but says it's known the police are so hard up they won't rock the boat with Rags as they need the money.

I'd have thought this is where they can pull their pants down & demand whatever they want.

Maybe that gets done at a different level.

Pretty obvious that it was an exercise to see how quickly a stadium could be evacuated if there was ever a real bomb.
United may have known about it beforehand but I think even they didn't know

I would have thought that people's lives are more important than finance although again I am convinced that this is all about politics rather than the truth. Why has it gone so quiet and how big must the carpet be?

Been out with 'people' today, the device was found by a 8o odd year old steward.
