United (H) - League Cup SF 2nd Leg Post-Match Thread

He is, but I honestly fear he is just to slow for English football.
He’s not too slow.

He, like nearly any player in the world, is going to struggle when tasked with covering the entire midfield practically on his own.

Don’t let that incredibly moronic, biased commentary tonight influence your perception of his performance — that seemed to be what one of the commentators was trying to do from the start: questioning whether he was good enough for City, whether he had the technical ability for the Premier League, and saying he wasn’t sniffing out danger several times (even though each time was remarking on one of our players needlessly giving away the ball ahead of him and then him having to sprint back to cover a quick ball forward).

The only thing he got right all night was questioning what role Rodri haD in the team for this match, which is a question I would ask Pep.

Sloppy finishing and a tad unlucky with the 2 we did put in the net as they where both narrow offside.

Pep has always said his tactics will get the players into the positions to score and then its down to them.

He isn't responsible for Merlin refusing to shoot from 7 yards out into an empty net mate.

We played well, utd had one shot and it was a hell of a finish from the twat.

Battered them over 2 legs and thats what its about.

Another final.

Fella you must see the problems in defence they have been there all year, we play a decent side tonight we concede a lot more. It’s too late after it happens and it will. You would have thought Monaco Liverpool and spurs may have been a hint to Pep or the amount of goals we concede to relative few chances but no he puts cancelo in some bizarre position and walker in the back 3 which is fine but we have no right wingback or left dependant on what cancelo is doing at the time. Tonight it even effected the midfield it was a team that was all over the place.

If you keep doing this you will lose sooner or later against good or even average sides, if your not convinced just look at his record in Europe when he fucks about too much.

actually to Pep the performances matter as much as the results if not more...he wont be happy with that and neither should anyone be despite the result...

it shows again the level(s) we have dropped this season - a big chunk of that is down to injuries but it shows the depth of quality fo the squad isnt quite there.
And the performance got us through. We were by far the better team tonight. By miles. Too many of our problems in two-legged matches has been treating them as individual games. We're through and deservedly so. That's all that matters

I don't care what he does against Madrid.

100% focus on the league cup final, FA cup and finish the season as close to the dippers as possible.

Might be a few differences of opinion there. Screw the league, just finish 2/3rd. Aim for a CL win as well as other cups which is always good practice. Just imagine another treble.

They created 1 half chance the whole game and scored from it. We were by far the better team but we passed up so many opportunities. Hopefully we learn from the sloppy, casual nature of our finishing. How Jesus doesn't get into to our starting XI in any one of the front 3 positions is a mystery ?
but we should have learned from that sloppy stuff earlyer in the season, the team expected a walkover AND the fans did 'me included' Jesus should have started but hey Pep nows best but i have a voice in my head saying Pep is full of shit and he does not know best, in reality we will beat villa and win the cup again but tonight was about us and them and we should have won our personal cup tonight with a spanking, maybe something Pep does not understand
