United (H) - League Cup SF 2nd Leg Post-Match Thread

right so you only watch us if we are winning and playing well??

are you a glory hunter ?
No a season ticket holder in the FA Cup scheme that goes to every one of those matches at the Etihad. Not keen on mid week late night matches so not in the other two cup schemes. I just know we are well below what we are capable of and it hurts to watch it also on TV you have to put up with the garbage from the commentary team. If I was in charge Sterling would not start.

No, it didn’t. That’s an aggregate result, not a score sheet. We LOST tonight to one of the worst fucking rag teams I’ve ever seen us play, Pep shit himself against a wank side and we fluked our way through a 2 leg tie where other than 30 mins at the toilet we’ve been absolute shite.
Way OTT. We created many chances, and controlled the game even at 0-1. That takes a bit of bottle. I've seen City play a lot better but sometimes you just need one goal and suddenly the game turns. We were comfortably the better side in both legs.

Point being mate, he’s not going to manage us forever, he’s leaving some point soon. Of course it’s been football we never thought we’d see, but shit happens and time moves on. Who gives a fuck.

The point is that I appreciate it, that seems to be taken for granted by some...

Not every parting of the ways has to be toxic!

Pep isn't to blame for what happens once the players cross the white line. When we dive into daft tackles, go backwards when there is acres of room in front and keep passing to each other instead of shooting - I am sure he hasn't asked them to do that. If I would blame him for anything it is his loyalty to Sterling who has frankly been wank for months now.
Fair comment but its a common and long standing failing that we try to walk the ball in to the net,we snatch at chances etc. So Pep has had ample time to coach the forwards to be more clinical or change them for someone who is,after all the guys a genius.

I’m not having a pop mate, just that people at home see a different game to the people who are there.
Yeah I can't argue there, but I'd watch it back without the stress, we honestly weren't that bad.

In fact in that first 20 minutes we played some of our best football under Pep, but didn't take the chances and their keeper made 3 outstanding saves, then we gave away a stupid free kick (the second we'd gifted them) and first attempt at goal they score (as seems to happen every time we start well and don't score).

On top of that we've had 2 goals disallowed that were marginally correct, and missed (or rather not attempted ) a sitter.

A fairer reflection of the whole game would have been a 3 or 4-1 win for us to be honest, and that's with us being below par as I said, they've created next to f**k all, all night.
