Putting his quality celebration aside, I've said for years now he doesn't get anywhere near not even remotely close the credit he deserves for the role he plays.

He's obviously adored by us as City fans, But overall he rarely ever gets a mention! He's by far the best ball playing centre back in world football by a considerable distance!

No other centre back in any league across the world can do what John Stones does, I'll say it again and again and again he's the best centre back on the planet.

Fucking love the guy.

For what it's worth I think you mods do a decent job. We only get to see the posts that make it, there must be plenty of absolute shite that gets stopped.

People overreact to comments. If we're in the thread we're probably not at the game, so calling a player shit etcetera if they miss a chance or cock up is just a reaction to what happened, not actually meaning the player is shit. They can't hear us so it's not going to effect their performance or confidence. It's just fans expressing their frustration or joy in real time as it happens on their TV or stream. The same as fans shouting "Get behind the lads!" etcetera. Again they can't hear us.

Being at a game live and watching it on TV are totally different, as is following it in the forum. Live you can get behind the team and hopefully spur them on. Online we're all just shouting into a void. Good for releasing frustration and tension but nothing else really.

I think match threads are on balance a good thing but there are wums and abusive to blues posters who ruin it for the majority , i dont do nearly as many as i used to do as i am not here for night games in particular and feel better for it but i think if jim riles up posters , as a poster and not a mod it needs pointing out as i would with any poster

Thanks; it's nice to be appreciated. I fully understand that emotions can get the better of folk. Trust me, I do. I've been known to crush a grape or two on occasions. And we encourage constructive criticism. Calling a player shit is not, to me, constructive. But hey; different strokes, and all that. What I find hard to fathom is folk who are quick to throw in the towel. Have they not seen the mentality Pep has engendered in his various squads since he came to us? With one or two memorable exceptions, we tend to keep going until the end. But the match threads have been like that since Noah was conducting sea trials in the ark.

Said it before and i’ll say it again , jonny boy is our secret weapon this season.
Huge credit to pep for recognizing talent and he really meant when he said stones has got big balls .He is a transformed player and totally reinvented player.
Pre match someone was concerned about stones caught out of position when I mentioned he would help rodri and I said stones has no designated position , so how can he be out position?
He plays in multiple positions, like when foden scored he was inside rags box celebrating.
How many cb do we normally see supporting forwards during run of play? Rarely.

Bloody hell lads, can we leave the Matchday Thread alone. Now I've given my season ticket up I buzz off people losing their shit in there. It's what football is about - fans going over the top when we're shit and going over the top when we're good.

Obviously that's only if that's what you're talking about - I'm channeling my inner Bluemoon Matchday Threader here and not reading back on what was posted previous to sticking my oar in!!!

True. Its an interesting concept, if you could choose to take the extra minutes or not depending on which side has done the most illegal timewasting. Ah well, i guess we'll have to stick with the current system of "red team gets extra minutes depending on current score".
