United (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Youve just said it. It suits “really good teams”. Trouble is with the theory is … what if you arent a really good team ? What if the kids just arent capable? What if its easier for them and suits the players to go long? Is that bad ?
I coach my lads team and its nice to watch them pass it about, probs low/mid level. But every now and then hoof the thing :)

we digress.
I wish a few of our defenders took your approach, particularly your last sentence. We might all be here typing away about how happy we are to have won yet another derby had they done so.

LOL not at all. I think there's been some serious lapses at strategic level at the club for a couple of years and it's going to take some time to sort out. The players we're putting out at the moment simply aren't good enough for the things we want to achieve. Sitting behind your keyboard and calling them a bunch of spineless fucks is frankly embarrassing.
They are a bunch of spineless fucks.

Pep hands are tied right now
5 or 6 players should be benched and somebody else playing but Peps has nobody to turn to and players are playing because nobody else is fit enough, Pep can not go in and roast the players really

We Need Something BIG to happen Good or Bad, Reactions happen in both and we need to clear the air and take the pressure off the Club and Fans, Pep may feel he needs to walk away or the club feel he needs a rest and let him leave

I said after the Juventus game the next 4 league games would be key to everything that happens in the Jan window
We need to be still in the race for a top 4 place and then our season could be saved, But after today I feel where is our next win coming from and Villa away we could be 8th or 9th

Pep is far too good of a manager to be letting this happen, in fact, does he want the sack because he knows the only way he leaves is if he can not do any more to improve this squad and gets the sack
Pep wants the sack ??

Over the years there has been some stupidity posted on here, but your comment is utterly ludicrous.

A more plausible scenario is that he tells Khaldoon that he' ll leave at the end of the season and for him (Khaldoon) to get on and sign his replacement up.

It allows for an orderly, confidential process, and may be best for all parties.

Twixt, get behind the (knackered) team and coach, theyve given us some of the greatest football experiences of our lives.

We disagree then. Saying he isn’t good enough over and over is not normal to me. I only said I think, for the first time he is considering it. There was no sarcasm in his voice he just said it’s going on too long now for it to be bad luck and just injuries.

He’s taking the responsibility, which is what any decent coach would do in this situation as he knows he’s only got the players he’s got for the time being.

It’s also him galvanising himself. If anything this run makes him more likely to last the length of his contract than not. We’re now his biggest legacy, the last think he’d want to do is to leave when it’s not a position to hand over to someone to keep it going or in the state it’s in now. That wouldn’t align behaviourally with anything he’s ever done at all.

Even if he publicly said “i’m considering leaving”, I wouldn’t believe him at this moment.

There's an idea; finish games while we're leading. If you're reading this Khaldoon, or the big man back in Abu Dhabi, make it happen!

Even winning 1.0 its was a poor performance and where is the press and the closing down ? what was it 6 seconds rule about getting the ball back, United 2nd goal Nobody closed down Martínez and he had so much time to pick a pass

This is not an ageing team or a team with burnout, this is not a City team that walks and ghost games,
this is Pep happy to keep backing up his players and talk the talk without being asked THE QUESTION

That last paragraph, are you pissed? Unbelievable.

Have you actually watched them?
If you think they are anywhere near good enough. They play, we lose - at least with the current lot there's a remote outside hope.
How do they get any better if they never play ? We've lost 8 out of the last 11 games having won one game - we've conceded the most goals of any team in the top 5 European leagues in that run. Does these statistics not mean anything to you ? No alarm bells ringing ?
Meanwhile we watch our ageing former stars barely able to raise a jog let along a sprint. I posted in the match thread that De Bruyne, Haaland and Foden all looked fucked after 15 minutes.
If there were signs of our returning players making a difference then I'd agree with you - but clearly they are making no difference at all.
