United (H) Post Match Thread

Finally got round to speaking to me dad in his 70s today, who stopped letting football get to him seriously a number of years ago, but he was utterly gutted that he didnt get to see us crowned champions by beating United, i think it really brought back a lot of memories from back in the day. Shame. I have to agree it was a glorious opportunity wasted.

Know exactly how your Dad feels.

Pep and the club however don't get what the derby means and see the champs league as more important.

Pep and the club, give it a rest.

Pep didn't decide to bottle three gilt edged chances, Pep didn't decide to go missing for 30mins in the second half and concede three goals and I can go on and on.

Does anyone know the pricks crying in the stand after the game shown to the world on sky, if so name and shame the fuckers! They should be paraded before the crowd at the next home game and pelted with rotten tomatoes! Talk about embarrassing

What? Kids?

Not sure what the fuss is about to be honest we played a weakend side that still battered the rags to the point it got that easy they fell asleep for 15 mins.

Concerning that we have these lapses but Tuesday in the grand scheme is so much more important we have to have a go.

I'm more embarrassed about losing to the rags than disappointed as that game should've been done at half time but that's football.

Roll on Tuesday.

I know I shouldn't listen to a rag but one said some thing to me yesterday that at the time I dismissed but I have thought about since.

What he roughly said was " you still have a small time mentality, the league is just a formality for you and yet you complain that you manager is trying to rotate to give you a fighting chance in the CL just because it's a derby". At the time I just fucked him off but the more I thought about it the more it made me question my thinking.

What if we do go through on Tuesday, most of us are expecting to go out but why? Ok we are three down but we are capable of turning that around but we need to be mentally strong in order to do so. Pep is focused and you can bet your life he hasn't given up. Say we do progress and get through to the semi's while getting the two wins required for the league? Would we really be too downbeat about the derby and if so why?

We need to put yesterday to 1 side now a mad 16 mins does not make us a bad team nor does it make the rags even close to challenging us. Rags had 5 shots all game we should have scored 6 or 7 first half the performance was 1 of the best 45 mins I've ever seen with a unbiased ref and better finishing and there keeper pulling 2 worldies out we score 8 or 9 yesterday. We were the better team for 80% of that game and the better team by a country mile not a little better but miles better. Time to wipe your fannies and get ready for what could be an unbelievable night on Tuesday because if we put in the same performance minus the 16 mins we will be in the semi's and the last week will be forgotten.

Refreshing to read the last three positive posts and especially your rag friends comments about a small time mentality. I think he is right. Pep does see the bigger picture and wants progress in the champ league. The ambitions of the club are huge and much bigger than local bragging rights or just a one off title win like Leicester.
