United (H) Post Match Thread

Just a question about Sterling. Do you think it's a mental thing with him ? I'm more inclined to think it's a lack of basic technique. For an international player to not even hit the target on two one-on-ones with De Gea seems to me to be someone who lacks proper technique in striking a ball correctly. He was leaning back on both when he struck those efforts which indicates his body position in relation to the ball was wrong. We've seen him previously fluff efforts, miskick and miss apparently simple tap ins although sometimes his scuffed efforts have gone in. I thought he played well first half but his poor finishing was a prime reason United went in at HT believing they were still in the game at 0-2.
Exactly my take on him...Basic lack of skill. I watched BHA v Huddersfield and they had players doing the same thing in the box leaning back as they tried to strike the ball. Awful technique.

My prediction is we wont do it either but we have to try. The league is still there. And we should have won today anyway. Granted I'm also certain we would have won had we started a forward but I don't want City to give up on Champions League even if it is a very long shot.

Our mantra has throughout been to "take it one game at a time" and it's a very good mantra. Had we stuck to it, we'd have almost certainly won yesterday and we'd now be looking forward to Tuesday with real confidence and hope. Far from "giving up".

Yesterday cannot be described as anything better than a total fuck up. Let's call a spade a spade.

Still, it's history now, let's move on. I'll be over it in a month or two.

People going on about a once in a lifetime , once in a lifetime is the 93.20, that will never happen again, but I feel we could win the league against Utd in future, the amount of times we've played Utd in April , so that's possible
Let’s not be silly. This is a once in a lifetime chance. The stars aligned this season, it was there for the taking.

I cannot actually believe we have away 3 goals against this horrible United side in second half. Referee this and that I dont care they would have never won if they dont score 3 goals from 2-0 down how did our defending let that happen.

We are wasting sitters while opponent is delivering unreal conversation rate. KDB and Pep both said Pool in 30 minutes scored 3 goals from 4 shots. Yesterday United did something very similar.

This is not happening by chance.

It was a horrible week for us honestly that Abu Dhabi holiday for the team doesnt look very good now, they looked happy, relaxed to sit back and enjoy nice weather but did they they really came back front here or they thought the season is finished with the huge lead we have.

It’s firstly a lack of composure. Good players can remain calm and not let their adrenaline override their calmness when shooting at goal or setting someone up. Sterling let’s that affect him too much which causes the poor technique because he’s panicking and not being composed with what he’s doing.

Sterling shins, scuffs, bobbles and mis-hits shots and crosses quite a lot.

Otamendi was all over the fucking place. He was giving the ball away, passing the ball to our players when they were in no position to be passed to, he was running out to the full back area getting too close to players and leaving huge holes in the middle and not concentrating on who he was marking on set pieces.

Atrocious performance!

Sterling has scored lots of goals this season and won us some vital points, but he just doesn't convince me.

He was definitely the main reason for us losing yesterday an nobody will change my opinion.

I just feel we should look for an upgrade.

We have looked and actively put bids in.

We tried to sign Sanchez in two windows and Marhez in January. We will try and sign Marhez or someone else this Summer again.

Tbf he’s never in his life been a cf he’s good at nicking a goal but we all know one one with the keeper he’s no got that instinct..his movements first class but he’s. not a striker.Pep fucked up not playing Jesus or Aguero, love pep byw he’s then man but call a spade a spade .

Reminds me of an "instinct" player. Absolutely fine as long as he doesn't have and/or need thinking time in front of goal.

Seriously did my head in that - even more so as we then completely unravelled.

That and that fucking cringeworthy "We're going to win the league" song. I fucking hate it! It cursed the dippers and as soon as we started singing it I thought we were tempting bloody fate!
