United (H) - Post Match Thread

Did anyone else notice Fernandinho having a word to Cancelo telling him not to get involved when McTomboy started to lose his shit? Ferna was warming up on the sidelines and just told him not to showboat or something. Don't want those nasty tackles coming in to injure one of our players so that was a nice touch from the club captain.

This is the reason of why we need him next season, not as full time player but as part city coaching team. His influence and experience will be immensely valuable for our squad in the next years to come.

Still smiling and buzzing. Perfect time to get back to the form we all know us destroy teams. It’s what we did and the 2nd half showed it. Totally outplay that lot up until it was near funny.

Honestly thought Silva ran the show. In parts his influence on the pitch is hardly noticeable. But he ran the pitch literally. He was everywhere and dictated the tempo. The guy has an unbelievable pair of longues and when having the ball hardly ever loses it. And he does this time and time again.

In a nutshell …. Decent

Long time since I've "gasped" at what i'm seeing, but some of our patterns and skill was jaw-dropping. A 4-1 lead in extra time, and still the determination to chase down and reclaim possession was manic. Part of the legacy of following the blues is "yeah but" is never far away, "Yeah but the rags are pathetic", but fkin' hell that was a master-class of total football,
top players bringing out the best in other top players. Never seen such a gap in class between 1st and 5th in the league. We are unlikely to face such a
a spineless bunch again, and maybe we wont reach the same glorious level,
but that game will live long in the minds of City fans, and no doubt the club. Magic....
