United (N) | FA Cup Final | Post-Match Thread

Beautiful. Atmosphere at Wembley was incredible
I think you could see Peps appreciation of that at the end. It was tremendous support today.

Didn’t think we were at our best today with a few wayward passes but it was still much better than their crap. Gundogan - Legend. What a great hit for the first goal.

Haaland magnificent work rate today too. Brilliant.

Not sure what those rag bellends were trying near Wembley Park after the game but the police were into them quickly.

Two down, one to go!

Not our best performance, but at this stage of the season results are more important than performances.

I only started feeling the sense of occasion when in a shop earlier I saw a fella with a City shirt on. He said he was from Poland & was visiting family who bought him a City shirt as a present, as Blue is his favourite colour.

He said everyone had been commenting on his shirt today & that he thought Manchester was very civilised because if this match was in Poland, the fans would've been fighting all week! :-/

HOWEVER, as I was leaving a young Rag came in & started going on about the fella's shirt, claiming we'd all turned into City fans just because of our recent success!

The Rags I know weren't even that arsed about winning & doing a domestic cup double. For them it's all been about stopping us repeating their 1999 treble! Sad fucks!

This season was always about the Champions League for me, but winning the league from so far back was a bonus. Shutting the Rags up today by beating them in the FA Cup final is an additional bonus, but it's all about next week!

It was a dream start from us & a brilliant 12th second goal from Gundog, but we seemed patchy in our play throughout the rest of the first half. We looked fit, but our normal rhythm just wasn't there.

I've no issues with the penalty. It wasn't deliberate hand ball from Grealish, but the latest rules have eliminated referee "interpretation" which is better than feeling like the ref is on our side or against us when contentious decisions like this are called. If it was the other way around, I'd want the penalty.

We were far better in the second half & it was a relief when Gundog's second of the game bobbled in. We managed the game to a successful conclusion, with my only gripe being I thought Grealish should've been subbed around 65 minutes, as he seemed to be struggling to get into the game.

It's telling that Foden was trusted to replace Super Kev in centre midfield. That's a few matches that he's played centrally & it seems Pep's finally starting to trust him in that position which makes who's leaving & arriving in the summer even more intriguing.

ManUre huffed & puffed & predictably threw caution to the wind & caused us a few hairy moments in the process, but we held firm & saw the game out to lift the trophy.

My MoTM was Josep Guardiola! No overthinking! No weird team selections! No weird formations! We did what we do & left it to the Rags to unpick our lock which they ultimately failed to do.

This is the team & formation 90% of us would've picked, so hopefully we'll see more of the same in Istanbul. I feel for Aké, but at this stage I don't see the point in upsetting a settled first eleven who're winning.

Roll on our second Champions League final next Saturday. Hopefully this time we'll do ourselves justice! )(
