United Post Match Thread

I've taken a deep breath, still pissed off with mp and his 2 man mid and bony instead of nacho.Very concerned anbout having willy in nets for a month or so,thank god for the international break, khaldoon needs to get mp by the nuts as i can't see any end to this dross otherwise
I agree .
Because Pellegrini looks like he doesn't give a crap .
Although I've been saying that for over a year now .
A good time to change would be now .
I would give Sven the job for the next month .

We may have missed the craft and guile of KDB and Nasri , but who we really missed most was Danny Tiatto , Nigel deJong , Andy Morrison and Mike Doyle.

Is 3 years enough time for Pep to turn it around ? I'm beginning to wonder...

3 months should do it I genuinely think the players are as confused as the fans with his tactics and team selections Going from a very bad manager to one regarded as the best will be a huge fillip for the players

I thought Fernando did well. Won his challenges. Bony did well too

Fernando is a defensive player. It's the offensive part of our game that we need to improve. We need to get bodies in the box. Midfield is the weak point of our team.

You said that last week aswell and yet again Fernando plays the majority of the game and City fail to score. The guy is garbage.

We are playing a 4-2-3-1 and when Yaya or silva (Part of the three) have to come and collect the ball of him what exactly what does that leave us to pass to ahead of the ball. 3 players at most and then is it any wonder our play is pedestrian and side to side.

The world has moved on part of the defensive two are players like Modric, Alonso, Cazorla, Kroos, Thiago Fabregas. We have regressed and moved back to a player of Fernandos ilk. Its almost incredible people fail to see the connection. Thankfully its a prerequisite of Pep that you have a player in that position who can pass through the lines and we can catch up rather than people referring back to deschamps, makelele as if this gives justification to play yesterdays player.[/QUOTE]

Watched it with some american friends who've not seen a full game before. One of them asked why were we going slowly sideways and backwards whilst they went quickly forward more than us.
I told them it was all part of a holistic masterplan.
Jeez I've raised this all season...my son reckons I'm too impatient, too rugby minded... Well the proof seems to be in comparison between the directness and pace of Leicester and Spuds on the one hand, and our default turgid horizontal passing....spot the difference in goals scored stats...ffs

Stood in Summerbees bar, team announced, four of us in unison "shit".
We all knew what would happen.

Kun needs to believe in the team. He is a superstar but cannot do it on his own. Fullbacks did OK for me.
Fernandino looks assured wherever he plays, and Willy looked to be better than Hart at distributing.
Was Degea kicking in to touch on purpose? Knowing they would win the ball from the throw in. Like Leicester did

Utd brought quite a noisy following today, you could see how much it meant to them at the end, I thought they had won a cup I was in Block 110 and could see the relief on their faces, I saw it compliment. It was a huge scalp for them to beat mighty City. We move on now! Bigger and better things to come.

Well what a disgrace that was. To come out in possibly the biggest game of the season and perform like that is unforgivable. No passion from anybody. Sick of constantly conceding first in every big game. As soon as the goal went in, you just knew we weren't winning the game. I can't ever see us coming from behind to win anymore under this idiot. Yet under Mancini, I honestly thought we could win every game we played in. Seriously can't see us beating Chelsea, Southampton, Arsenal or Swansea.

Once again, the team selection was wrong. Everybody in that ground knows Toure can't play in a midfield 2. The amount of times first half they just bypassed our midfield was ridiculous. Demichelis should be nowhere near that team. Nowhere near it. It's bad enough he started, but to come back out for the 2nd half should be a criminal offence! Everyone could see he was having an absolute mare - I assume even MP did seeing as Zaba warmed up all of HT - and to see him come back out, you just knew what was gonna happen. He then sells Hart down the river by messing up a simple 5 yard pass and strolls away like he did nothing wrong.

The sooner this season ends and Pellegrini sods off the better. Never has a plan B. In saying that, what's plan A!? We get anywhere near the final third and we just pass sideways and look for the eye of a needle pass. Pep has one hell of a job turning this around. Out of that squad, I would possibly only keep 4/5 players.

We're going backwards. Very quickly.

I didn't bother going today as I wanted to spend an extra few hours with my daughter. Gave my ticket away. Didn't bother watching either but as soon as I saw the team sheet, and them at 7/2, I couldn't help myself. Who the fuck plays 1 player, in a midfield 5, that is going to put any sort of graft in and expect to win? It's crazy, same against Liverpool at home.

Not even sure we'll make top 4 any more due to injuries. Not sure what people wanting Pellegrini out are smoking, there are 8 league games left and I can guarantee Brian Kidd won't do any better. Players are to blame for me just as much as the manager, lazy cunts.

No excuses on this one. We had a team out good enough to beat that pile of shit and we couldnt even score 1 goal - appaulling show. Where on earth do we go from here? Im all ears.

Pellegrini clearly messed up again playing Yaya in a two man midfield and also playing DeMichelis. Injury meant Fernando came on and from that point on we dominated the game....particularly in the second half. Had the chances to win but just couldn't take em.

Let's face it...we have been rubbish for the last few months proving how poor Pellegrini is. Aguero and Silva were the best today and I think that Nasri, KDB and Delph will be very welcome additions after the international break.

It's one thing playing Yaya in a two man midfield, or any two in a midfield against a manager who tries to dominate that area, but then it is another playing that midfield, with Demichelis behind.

It's fucking arrogant stubborn shite is what it is.

Today's game should have been an initially cagey affair between two sides not in the best form. One team just went gung ho without a plan the other inferior team, had a plan, got away with a bit of luck & carried out the plan, then got away with it as the other team basically abandoned tactics & just tried to claw their way back, & were a bit unlucky not to.

But had both teams had a manager, City would have won, easily imo. But the same can be said of about 6 or 10 other games.

Calmed down a bit, we were shite, they are shite, but we have a better future under Pep, rather be blue than red in the coming years. No better rather be dead than red...

Agree with a lot of waht you say. Im as pissed off as you losing to a pile of shit like that. We went rotten towards the end of Mancinis time aswell though. I wouldnt worry too much when Pep takes over, we will buy a few top quality players and he will have enough to work his magic believe me. The owners have taken this step by step and have not let us down so far. They have great vision. Few clubs would be looking to get rid of a manager that had got them the double but the owners want more than that and they will get what they want in the end.
