The second I saw the article was written by Greg Stobart, I decided I'd have no truck with it.

Joyful new's indeed if true. Can we get an insight into sales figures at this time ? I'm not sure what there usual figures for league match tickets are...anyone ?

Re: United - MASSIVE

Why are they targeting Greater Manchester and Cheshire?
Surely they'd have a far greater response if they leaflet dropped in the home counties

Re: United - MASSIVE

I've located the problem:
Such is the concern, the Glazers have ordered thousands of 'mail-shots' this week which have been inserted into free local newspapers in and around Cheshire and the Greater Manchester area in an attempt to drum up business.

Re: United - MASSIVE

I guess they may pick up a couple of hundred extra season ticket sales with this leaflet campaign but I can't see it being many more than that. At the end of the day pretty much every United fan that is in some way clued up about their club will know that there are season tickets available to anyone who wants one. Those that aren't or are always moaning that they "can't get a ticket" are probably not dedicated enough to lay out the cash for one anyway, and would sooner watch them down the pub.

Does anyone have any idea of roughly how many season tickets remain unsold there? Someone mentioned 10,000 the other week but as funny as that would be I can't see that many bailing out in one go, probably more like 2,000-3,000 tops. What can't be disputed is that this is at least the 4th season running that United have had a number of season tickets on open sale.

I was chatting to a lad who had applied for a season ticket at the swamp and his application was for near the away supporters
He said the other side of the swamp, his first choice, was sold out

Edit - He had to join the FA Cup and Champions league ticket schemes. The Carling cup was optional
However, if the rags reached any of the finals, he would not be allowed to apply for a ticket as he isn't a member of all three cup schemes

If you ...have received said leaflet, pick up with a Dominoes or other local nosh house leaflet and dispose. Do not, I repeat, do not, attempt to apply to posterior in the time honoured manner of removing faecal matter.
