Just reading this:
http://andersred.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/why-have-glazers-changed-their-strategy.html

Glazers look like being screwed financially if this IPO doesn't come off. Seems like they borrowed the $400m to pay off the PIK notes personally and (reading between the lines) the results for 2012 will trigger a penalty clause which will cost them even more money. Oh dear.
Why is that I can detect the glee with every word you type?
There's two sides to this actually. As a City fan I obviously love seeing them in trouble and watching the arrogant glory-hunters deserting them.

As a football fan, I find the notion of people like the Glazers and Shinawatra being allowed to own clubs offensive. They aren't fit and proper in any meaningful sense of the word.
I'd agree with your sentiments about Frankie, but don't see how Malcolm fits in the same bracket

Re: United thread 2012/13.

How did the glazers pass the fit and proper person test?

We all know the rags are going to sign sneijder, modric, bale, van persie and zlatan twatovic next season and leave us all standing........

Oh.....hang on a minute!!!!

Because they wouldn't be allowed to do to the Tampa Bay Bucs what they've done to the rags, which is to incur debt secured on club assets. People like them destroy football clubs.

But Platini seems to believe their model is good for football rather than an owner pumping their own cash in and involving the whole community in the benefits of improvement

it's good for the rags as long as they fall into mediocrity forever like an Everton.

We all know what bacon face is like so I'd take it with a pinch of salt. If true though I think it'd have to be one hell of a signing to keep up with us next year. It's encouraging

baconface said that on ssn while introducing his stellar signiings so far this summer - a japanese shirt salesman and some kid from crewe.

Taggart was either pissed or in the 1st stages of senility during that presser today...

Certainly looking and sounding very old. Can't be long now before he gives up/loses the job. Can see Guardiola going there tbh. The timing will be just about right.

How they start the season will be interesting to watch... Mind you, they "always come good at the end" don't they?
