A lot of commercial deals will be dependant on sucess or at least involvement in the champions league. If they reign in the spending ala Arsenal they is a danger they wouldnt qualify and revenue will go down - they arent about to let that happen.

Maybe this is the straw that broke the camels back, Baconface only viewed sucess in terms of trophies, owners view in terms of revenue. Fergy wants to spend big to keep on winning, owners don't, decision move the problem upstairs and bring in a man who can operate on a less expensive budget. Doesn't have to win anything just bring in the cash, tempt him with a long contract if he wins something that is a bonus. Although the above doesn't fit squarely with them trying to get Jose because he will want superstars. All I know is if Bert left and we appointed Moyes I would be bloody disappointed no matter how it was dressed up.

If they finish 4th and pot less until the end of time I'd be happy with that. If in 10 years we can have a sincetheragslastwonatrophy.com that's ticking onto 9.9 it's job done. Doesn't need relegation, I'm not greedy.

Can anybody else see Moyes bringing some players with him?
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Fellaini (sp?) follow Moyes.
Can also see Baines and Pienaar going, although less likely.

Not sure I believe all the guff about spending big in the summer, but could be wrong. Maybe like last year, a star (RVP) and another who can be talked up (Kagawa). I suspect the Glazers have already spent whatever money was coming.
Maybe the star will be Fellaini made out to be just what they need to replace Scholes.

Rodgers had the same agreement when he left Swansea, that he would not take any Swansea staff or players. 1st Signing- Joe Allen from Swansea.
With Moyes out of contract I don't think he would have this agreement anyhow
