More evidence of united's shifting position towards Liverpool. A policy of flattery which is designed to soften Liverpool up. A policy that has clearly worked of late. Liverpool performances against united in recent years have been feeble - and with good reason. People are often complimentary about you when they're taking advantage of you. Could you ever imagine Taggart and Giggs waxing lyrical about one of our players like this as they just did about Carragher?

Ferguson:

Jamie is absolutely a player I admire. He’s the epitome of a loyal, dedicated player who Liverpool have been lucky to have for more than a decade.

He’s been a bedrock of their defensive qualities for years and years. I loved him. Jamie's is a fantastic example for any young lad that wants to play the game.

He’s been a really, really good professional. He’s absolutely the type of player a manager wants. I used to rave about Brucie [Steve Bruce] and the nine years he had with us, and I think Jamie Carragher is that exact same mould - can play with injuries, gets knocked about and gets back up, hardly misses a game.

You’re lucky to have players like that. I was lucky to have Steve Bruce and Jamie is the same type of player. A fantastic player.

Ryan Giggs

It’s a massive loss to Liverpool. You’ve got him, Steven Gerrard and then the likes of me, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville, who have all been one-club players.

We’ve seen so many changes within our clubs. But it’s not only Carragher’s influence on the pitch [that will be missed], I’m sure he has a massive influence off it as well.

An influence on how the club and how the dressing room should be run and the traditions and the history of the club. You pass these things down to the young payers who are coming through and the foreign players who come in.

I’m sure Jamie has been a massive influence, both on and off the pitch. That will be greatly missed by Liverpool.

Keep sucking it up Liverpool. Bend over, safe in the knowledge that you are united's "big" rivals. Another 'nul points' for LFC against united next season methinks.

Must have dreamt about Suarez racism row ;)
His poor command of English at the time meant he wasn't "on message" ;-)

Fucktards on football focus demanding that Bale links up with Moyes pmsl.

No other club in the world apparently.

What a statement that will send out they say ffs.

Of course, there is no bias.

Apparently we are the ones obsessed. Just watched SSN and over the tanoy they told their fans our result. Remember this is a day where the season ends and they get called Champions and a day where Ferguson spends his final time in the dugout and they wave farewell to their best midfielder of last 20 year's yet we are still in their thoughts. Classless and obsessed, hopefully some rags trawl this board and read this. Whilst your here get over Ronaldo, so much for bring him home, United are Sporting Lisbon now? Cunts.

I think you may have jumped the gun there, mate.

Initially, I thought the same as you, once the SSN presenter said that the United fans were cheering when the City result was read over the tannoy but, if you listen to the full clip carefully, the guy over the tannoy is actually reading all the final scores from the Prem, not just the City one.

Fergie's face when WBA equalized would have been hilarious, were I not so depressed.

The clip I watched certainly portrayed that it was a City v Norwich result. Had they played another 10 seconds before or after I;d have known but the way it was edited it gave this perception.

Fair play to United, they HAVE been the better team. I resent the cunts and always will but they were hard done to in Europe in all fairness whereas we went with not so much as a whimper :(

Next season, fuck I sound like a Kopite ;)

-- Sun May 19, 2013 10:05 pm --

Don't be depressed, it's the last time you'll see his face on the touchline again. It's now the time we've all waited for.

Just watching the highlights of the games today, and it's just shown the scum game... never before has there been a 5-5 in the prem, but more importantly, of those 10 goals, all 10 were wank goals. Lindegaard's goalkeeping was woeful, it looked like an outfield player had gone in net.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s parting gift to Manchester United manager David Moyes may have been a poisoned chalice

By Alan Hansen 20 May 2013

With Sir Alex Ferguson now the ex-Manchester United manager, the club will now witness the dawn of a new era and sustaining success at Old Trafford will be a really hard job for David Moyes.

David is a top-class manager, one of the very best, and there is no way that anybody in his position would ever dream of turning down a six-year contract to manage Manchester United.

But I believe he would have been better served had he taken the job on with a different United team to the one he inherits from Ferguson.

Ferguson has been unbelievably clever in recent weeks by telling the world that United are in the best position they could possibly be in, with the current squad ready to prolong the success he has masterminded for the last 20 years. But after saying all of that, he has then gone and announced his retirement.

He has set the scene for the future, but outside of Old Trafford, people are wondering whether this group of players he has left behind really are capable of dominating as Ferguson’s team have done in the past.
