I thought all PL pitches had to be a standard size now, 105m long = 114 yds. So the far edge of the centre circle would be around 47 yards out from goal.

No, that's the old rule. It's been changed very, very recently. I think it's something to do with widescreen tellies... For example, if a game is on Sky HD, the pitch is actually 140 yards long... apparently.
