Has anyone see Kroos play alongside mediocre before?

Only, playing alongside Tom and Marouana in a far more competitive League, may be slightly different to playing in a Chumps League winning team, where you can just stroll around the middle of the park, skimming gorgeous passes everywhere.

I think he is in for an ickle surprise

exactly. see Ozil at the arse.

He's obviously being targeted as the new "Scholes". You get the feeling after Scholes recent comments that he, himself, sees Kroos being his natural replacement.

However, just like Scholes, Kroos would need a midfielder around him who could do the box to box running, winning the 50/50 tackles and harrassing the opponents. Kroos alone wouldn't solve their midfield woes.

He's an excellent player though.

United have a good manager now and they'll bring in some decent players without doubt. They will win a lot of games that they lost this past season against the mid-table and lower sides. All they really have to do beyond that to get top 4 is to draw all the games against the other main contenders (City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Everton). With a manager who knows his stuff they may do better than average in those games. So I think unfortunately they'll make top 4 next year (at Liverpool's or Arsenal's expense).

Last year was so predictable and so much fun. Unfortunately United the right thing for them and ditched Moyes before he truly destroyed them.

You might have a point but that's about as good as it's going to get - unless they have a year's "plain sailing", like Liverpool just had (unlikely, surely).
So, if you're talking to any rags be sure to go along with the hype. Try to build up their hopes as much possible by predicting that they'll be a force to be reckoned with/ it's between them, us & Chelsea etc etc.
That way, by season's end, they'll be feeling that challenging for fourth is a dismal failure. More pressure on LVG, more discontent at the swamp etc
You know it's the right thing.

they're already my "2nd favourites" for the title, behind Chelsea, because they'll be "buying the title" with all these "world class players" coming in, whilst we'll only be "tweaking our squad" because of FFP, and because we'll be distracted with CL and our squad restrictions, whilst they have a clear run like Liverpool, and because they're buying so many "world class players" they must surely do better than Liverpool did with no European football otherwise they'd fail compared to their "greatest rivals".

City fans can play media politics as well ;P.

Let Yaya eat cake.

Louis XIV died in his bed (albeit from gangrene which isn't exactly pleasant). XVI was the one who had a sore neck.
Ah, I skipped over the Roman Numerals thinking how much better Van Gaal would be to look at after an encounter with the guillotine.
