Does anyone believe that this £200M war chest is real? Or is it all smoke & mirrors like last season?

I think they did have about 100m earmarked but i don't think they planned to finish so low.
That and the loss of revenue from early cup exits i think made them rethink things.
100m could have blagged people into thinking 200m was splashing around with a few bits of pr magic.

Now though after Mata if they spend more than 50m i would be a little shocked.

Uncle malc will latch on to the fact lvg likes to bring through youth, this = more cash for malc.
He has poor old Woodward as his shield against hassle so he couldn't give a toss.
If they scrape 4th with minimal investment then Malcolm will stick with it.
As long as the non local fan bases keep buying crap and they are sniffing around the top 4 i doubt we will see any change in policy.

Sad caf transfer forum is well worth spending 10 mins in a joy to behold. They are fucking besides themselves, from Kroos, Muller, Robben Fabregas to McCarthy and boy do they rate Gervinho.

'The money, however, is there to be spent if needed. There's been multiple lines from reliable journos that we matched or outbid Madrid for Bale'

Off the Caf, I'm not having that one.

Journos are saying that the rags have an automatic 10m added to the transfer because the selling club know they are desperate. :-) Not that long ago we were in the same position and every player we signed were mercenaries no doubt they will consider them to be somehow organic signings signed with their own money and no they won't be buying the league these are investments to get them back to where they rightfully belong. :-)

tbh i really dont give a shit abut them but i think they will be the liverpool of last season with no euro football depending on who they buy, buy well and they will be there around the top 4, buy bad and mid table

So lvg or davey, seems it does not matter.
If chelsea get shaw from under their noses i will piss myself.

we can laugh all we like but in reality we should be in for him.

...is the correct answer.
If either Chelsea or the rags get him, he will strengthen their squad.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't for the life of me see how this is a good thing for us.

Arrah, pull yere knickers back on, the pair of ye. He's an overpriced, unproven full back. Nothing more, nothing less. If our rivals want to spunk £30m or whatever on him, great! Sure, it might work out but it's huge gamble at that money. I'd be disappointed if we got into this particular race.

I kinda view it this way also, we are not doing to bad in that position and you can't nowadays have everyone that is anygood.

I don't think it is good or bad for us, it is what it is.
I just like the idea of utd being a permanent laughing stock regarding player aquisitions.
Especially if teams come in and nick their targets.

I mean look at redcafe, their transfer forum is full of disputes and grievances already hehe.

I have often been accused of following the crowd, it is a fair criticism, so just to avoid any speculation I can state here and now that I will not be joining the Rags either.

So, the Shaw deal has stalled. Not died, but stalled. If not for FFP we could swoop right in here and get him.

Apparently Chelsea were only willing to pay him £60,000/week compared to United's offer of £100,000/week. Moneybags United ruining football - something you won't read in the papers!

Mike Keegan says the same thing.

Please note this came out after a barca paper this morning ran a piece saying Cesc would join NO other English club beyond the arse.

So robben and cesc so far today have told them to eff off haha.
