In the wake of the expected move for David Luiz from Chelsea to PSG, the BBC displayed a list of the most expensive defenders.

Camel gob is still third on that list, behind Luiz and Thiago Silva.

That just shows how much - relatively - GPC paid for the thick gangsta-wannabe all those years ago.

And City inflated the transfer market? Don't make me laugh!

So lvg or davey, seems it does not matter.
If chelsea get shaw from under their noses i will piss myself.

Same here.

Rags getting worked up over Edward Woodward not closing deals. They can't see it's mostly a charade.

Keep up the good work, Uncle Malc

We did actually; Joleon "top of the League" and legend that he will always be is fifth on that list !

Another case of Mickeys and daylight robbery.

You can't compare the two. £30M for a defender is big money now, 12 years ago it was unprecedented.

we can laugh all we like but in reality we should be in for him.

...is the correct answer.
If either Chelsea or the rags get him, he will strengthen their squad.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't for the life of me see how this is a good thing for us.

Evra signing for another 12 months suggests Shaw is definitely on his way there imo.

Ive heard all day how they pulled out of the kroos signing - fucking lol.....!

It suggests exactly the opposite. To me, Mr Ireland.

If Shaw were on his way to the swamp, why would the rags retain Evra?

On another note, the rags have announced their European fixtures for season 2014/15.

Swansea (H)

Swansea (A).

Dates to be confirmed!

Just so I can get my facts (piss taking) straight, where does Utd's 2012 league collapse fit in with the all time PL record of such things - did they actually 'do a Newcastle' in a bigger way than Newcastle did?
Also, was this years title defence the shittest ever in the PL?
Blackburn were the worst but only just. They won it with 89 points and came 7th the following season with 61. The rags won it with 89 and came 7th with 64.
