Why would mourinho agree to sell him to united ? Can't get my head round this?
The amount of arse licking mourinho does to that club is unbelievable. Especially considering they obviously don't like him that much.

United trot out 'we don't sell to our rivals' (for Rooney) and everybody has to accept that, but if United want to buy off a rival they seemingly bend over (mata, van Persie, berbatov, carrick)
I don't get it?

Hopefully this doesn't affect things over the next 4 months but got a bad feeling he's going to give them a spark, think he's a great player and would love him here.

Hoping for an injury to Oscar and hazard now so that mourinho is fucked and this comes back to bite him on the arse ....... Prick

Top 4 favorites now? I had Liverpool down for Champions League qualification, but Mata changes things completely. Still can't believe Mourinho would do that. He's effectively declaring that United are not in the title race, but that was already clear to everyone. This just gives them such a boost in there darkest hour, thanks you scheming littler schemer. I think if this hadn't happened United may have even ended the season out of Europe, imagine that? Now though I think Liverpool will probably end up 5th with Everton just behind them.

So can you tell us how you think Mata is going to help the rags stop conceding goals?

Because defence is where their biggest problems lie.

Sure they'll still leak goals but they haven't been the best in the attacking third either. I have a feeling this signing will encourage the Dutch Skunk to cease pretending to be injured and get back on the pitch. When you have a strike-force of Rooney and RVP supplied by such a man as Juan Mata, you can afford to play 'go ahead, score against against us, we'll score more' and attempt to make top four that way. It's how Arsenal did it a couple seasons back and they just about

The Dutch skunk has other problems believe me :-)

managed to pull it off.

You're forgetting Wee Davey is still in charge. He'll probably play Mata as a defensive midfielder.

Then again, we had Wenger and as you say, they have Wee Davey (bless his soul), so maybe I shouldn't worry so.

Some need to get a grip....ok Mata might give them a boost for a few games, but to say that this now makes them favourites for a top four finish - get real.

Mourinho has taken the stance that Mata is not good enough, okay he was chelsea's POTY for 2 seasons but he is also correct in saying Mata's work rate without the ball is not that great.

There are still gaping holes in that squad form midfield to defence and Mata will not solve that problem.

I am hoping they get Europa league next year, a lovely fixture pile up is just what is required

Without Mata, United come 7th or worse the way they have been going. This undoubtedly would result in Moyes' dismissal, which would be bad news. Almost anyone would do better.

The best we can hope for is that Mata inspires a mini revival and United end up 6th. The media already seem to be giving Moyes an easy ride compared to many a foreign manager. If United improve a bit there will be a groundswell of goodwill towards him from the likes of the idiotic Alan Brazil.

This will be great as over the summer Moyes will go and waste 100 million and next season will be a total write off.

I do feel sorry for Mata though. Quite why he is wasting the rest of his career I have no idea.

He's only signing for the rags so he can be near Silva, Aguero Negredo Navas et-al

-- Thu Jan 23, 2014 8:47 pm --

He's only signing for the rags so he can be near Silva, Aguero Negredo Navas et-al
