I'm pretty sure we had a bid rejected for Mata when we missed out on Willian. Chelsea never confirmed who the club were. I doubt Mata would have joined on reduced wages anyway.

It reminds me of when Arsenal's top 4 hopes were in jeopardy and they signed Arshavin and he went on a wonder run with them. Mata is a brilliant player and it makes me wonder if it will be the usual top 4 come the end of the season if he agrees terms

Agreeing terms isn't an issue - he's holding all the cards.

Mata's a playmaker thatll be setting up players who struggle to score... he doesnt do tracking back either..
