Simple choice really. A travel lodge in town with dirty sheets or a nice hotel with nice rooms a bar and a restaurant just 30 mins from the stadium for the same price. For the same standard of hotel in Manchester, it would cost another £100 a night. That's your night out right there.
Also, they would be travelling back home from the Etihad after the game. So it wouldn't matter if they stayed in Bury, Blackpool or Birmingham. The journey back would still take the same amount of time.

I thought you were fucking off to Chinley anyway? I bet it takes you longer to get to the stadium from there than it does from Bury.

The simple choice for a derby trip up to Manchester would be to stay in bleeding Manchester! Could you imagine their faces as the coach was driving away from Manchester through open countryside for 30 mins!

"It's okay lads, Bury town center has it all, and if you want to get some tins in, I can swing by the polski sklep!"

Just accept it, you're wrong. Aside from that the Village isn't in the town centre, it's next to the motorway and a five minute blast down the motorway to Heaton Park, which is in Manchester. From there it's another 10 minutes to Queens rd which is only a couple of miles from the stadium.
If you'd ventured a few miles further up the road than the cheese hamlet you might have a better idea of local geography and stop talking complete and utter fucking nonsense.
I don't even know why I'm responding because you're an obvious troll. A troll with poor local knowledge, but a troll nonetheless.

A quick blast on the motorway here a short hop on the train there. Perhaps you aren't au fait with the whole overnight stay/coach to the game type scenario, but if me or any of my pals went on a match trip to any of the major cities in this country, we wouldn't be too pleased if we ended up 30 mins away from the place that we were intending to be, regardless of the marvels of modern motorways and public transport. You're obviously from Bury or work for the Village hotel or summat, so if I have offended you then I don't really care. And who's trolling who? I was asking another forummer a genuine question and you jumped in with both feet! You could just stop responding, but looking at your 39,900 posts, it's obvious that you won't, because you can't.

Not from Bury, I'm just aware of the area I grew up in, and if you think Manchester to Bury is a 30 minute drive through the country, you've probably only ever seen Manchester on a map. You didn't ask a genuine question, you tried being a smart arse and got it wrong, and every time you've been put right you've ignored it or come out with even more nonsense. As for my post count? Nice try in trying to have the last word. Typical troll behaviour.

22 minutes on the tram, or 30 mins in the car from The Village hotel, bury to the Etihad stadium.
Stop talking out of your arse.

They aren't using the tram or car or going to the Etihad. They are on coaches from down south. Bury is 10 miles North West of the City and nowhere near the M6 for the journey home. I'm no tour guide, but that is piss poor planning when you have literally hundreds of hotels in South Manchester and along the M6 corridor. And what if they wanted to go for some beers in town? BURY WTF? I'm from Didsbury and I have never even contemplated going to Bury. Why would you?

still seems a lot of mither. i can't for the life of me think why they didn't follow a team near home to begin with.

What's the relevance of southern rag coaches getting from Bury to The Etihad as mentioned by a couple of posters?
The game on Sunday was at the swamp.

These two are both missing the point. They are obviously staying in Bury to make it easy to pay a visit to the famous market to pick up some real sausages and black puddings. It would be like us visiting Stilton or Melton Mowbray :-)

So smellyman says fans only go to hotels near grounds and says why would utd fans go to bury if they are fromthe south, well on our last 2 visits to wembley weve stayed at Worthing near Brighton, which is about 80 odd miles south of london.

if you ask why, my wifes sister lives there so ive driven all the way there from manchester the day before the game ,stayed there overnight, wife stays to see her sister and me and my son get a train from brighton to wembley so a good weekend, and whats surprising is hpw many blues stay in places like brighton and get on the train in south london.

so its no unreasonable to think of utd fans staying in bury, compared to brighton to london its only a few miles.

Easy enough mistake to make. People say Manchester and you automatically assume the Etihad.
