There isn't a cup scheme as such, it's all in the T's and C's for purchasing a season ticket. By doing so you agree to purchase a ticket for each and every home game in the FA Cup, and home games in Europe (well, normally!!). They used to have to purchase tickets for the League Cup too but, I think, that was removed from the T's & C's a season or 2 back. They don't enrole you into a scheme, and take them money, like City do (if you chose to join the scheme in City's case), they rely upon you to buy the ticket off your own back. This is probably so they can re-sell your season ticket seat for a game when you fail to comply, and make more money that way!
Thanks for that information, more ammo when I get the shit about our crowds.
I broke the habit of a lifetime and willingly watched the Cambridge game on the box, and I was left completely baffled as to how this shower of shit could possibly attract 75,000 for every one (allegedly) of their home games, but now we hear of this ultimatum and there's the answer. Are the Glazers acquainted with the Mafia, I ask?
The get nowhere near 75,000 for games, GMP have confirmed this with their figures released a few months ago for last season, the true figures have been posted on here somewhere

Re: United Thread 2014/15

Thanks for posting this.

I know we had a couple of posts on something like this in the "Empty seats" thread.

This is the official rule on season ticket holders at manure - below.

Though I think we should require certain number of games attended I'm not sure if holding ST holders to threats is the right way.

15What are the Season Ticket requirements regarding home cup matches?

Subject to certain exceptions, Season Ticket Holders are required to purchase a ticket for all home cup matches and must provide card details which will be used by the Club to make these purchases. Season Ticket Holders can opt out of purchasing League Cup tickets and under 16 Season Ticket Holders can opt out of purchasing tickets for the FA Cup / UEFA Champions League / UEFA Europa Cup - please see your renewal pack for full details.

Any Season Ticket Holder that opts out of a home cup match will receive lower priority in any ballot held if we are oversubscribed with applications for any away match, semi-final and/or cup final in any competition.

The number of home cup games to be played will depend on how successful the team is, and whether it is drawn at home. The price of tickets for all home matches (which may vary for different competitions) can be found by visiting http://www.manutd.com/ticketprices.

Failure to make payments may result in a ticket suspension, please see Terms and Conditions.

Real Madrid's Gareth Bale rules out Manchester United move

Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale has ruled out a move to Manchester United.
The Welshman, 25, had been linked with a move to Old Trafford, with goalkeeper David De Gea going the other way.
"I can't see myself at Manchester United," Bale told radio station Cadena SER. "I am enjoying myself and we are winning trophies. I want to continue doing this at Real Madrid."
Bale joined Real for an £85m world record fee in September 2013 and won the Champions League last season.

The former Tottenham player has been criticised by some sections of the Madrid supporters recently and was booed after failing to pass to Cristiano Ronaldo in a 3-0 win against Espanyol.
Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo, who showed his frustration at being denied a tap-in at the time, later urged the club's fans to back his team-mate.
Bale said: "I feel the support of the Bernabeu. I am going to continue working to show what I am capable of doing on the pitch and so as to win more trophies.
"I don't think I'm greedy. On the pitch I make assists and score goals. I play the game how I like to play and the press can say what they want."
On his relationship with Ronaldo, the Wales international, who revealed he used to be an Arsenal fan, added: "There is no rivalry between us."

Bale, who has also won the Copa del Rey with Madrid, has scored 36 goals and provided 26 assists in his 72 matches for Real.

Snubbed.

The article missed out the bit where he said "and the rags aren't".

Not sure about that, but they could potentially claim an attendance of 88,000 or more for the Sunderland game. 78,000 in season tickets already sold plus general sales. Plus another 10,000 in sales of suspended season tickets. That would give them 88,000 and would break our record crowd for an English league game.

Re: United Thread 2014/15

It's a shame we're not as pathetic as their fans when it comes to chants.

There could be a great chant in this *forced to by a ticket by your football club*.

And expose the little man hiding behind the Wizard of Oz's spangly curtain? Not likely.
If they declared an attendance figure above their capacity, they'd immediately cast suspicion upon every other subjective figure they publish. People might think that they don't actually have 666 million fans, for heaven's sakes!
On top of that, Trading Standards might have something to say - even if their little scam is currently all legal and above board, they might move to change the law.
