Instantly dislike the red bastard, easy to hate.

Fair enough. His honeymoon period is now over.

Strange as it seems, no impossible as it seems my good lady said SAF seems more likeable. I laughed out loud but easy to sort of see what she as getting at.

Also loved the turtlehead thing

Easy to guess Manager of the Year if the scum finish top 4. Anyways, too hard to escape all the media attention to Van Gaal and 'his' Man.United. Either in England or Holland. Either way, until the PL kicks off I simply stick to the 'rubbish' on Blue Moon and have a nice distraction watching the Tour de France for the time being.

At best, he will have a Mancini type effect on the rags. They will improve because it will be difficult to emulate something Moyes did, but to what extent is anyone's guess. Then once he's improved it, he will start to grate on some players and staff, and one way or another he will soon be gone. But he's not as likeable as Bobby, and I don't think he will be quite as effective.

I've just taken the time to look at Van Gaal's "honours" and he hasn't accomplished anything of note in near on fifteen years (I don't include leading Bayern Munich to a Bundesliga title in 2009-2010 as that is not particularly impressive). Third in the World Cup after barely squeezing past several inferior teams is as close as he has come.

I still do not understand the "genius" tags aside from media's love of narrative.
I agree Seb, but wasn't he also the only one avail willing to take the scum post on. Sure they were after more stellar names who were not interested. I have a feeling this wont be an easy ride on or off th epitch for them

One thing for certain he will start better than Moyse with the easy 6 games the scum have

Even the rags are capable of getting maximum points from their first 6 games. If that happens the rags will get extremely giddy saying number 21 is on its way and van Gaal will be universally hailed as a genius manager. If they lose even two of those games their season's fucked. Either way reality will kick in when they play the top 4, all of whom are still stronger than the rags are, and get caned.
