According to Daily fail vadge has put blind and strotman on the front of the players he want...

Blind agreed personal terms with Barcelona apparently.
Don't think that blind was ever on the cards after spending 30m on Shaw for the left back role. Unless van gaal doesn't fancy shaw?

They really need more quality signings in early or it could be disastrous for them.
Everyone goes on about their striking pedigree but did anyone else notice RVP fade towards the end of the world cup, even though he bloody well rested himself as much as possible last season. Rooney is physically deteriorating too, Scholes was correct on that. They'll both have periods of fantastic form but I'd be very surprised if we haven't seen the best of both players.
Defensively, they're still as weak as last season. Yes, the boy from Southampton looks an exciting prospect, especially going forward but who knows how he'll react to playing on the bigger stage and may take time to bed in, perhaps even a season. Vermallen is a decent premiership centre half, none of the presence of a Kompany, Vidic or Terry though. They desperately need leaders back there. They've spent huge money on English defenders on recent years that are simply not good enough. Smalling isn't strong enough and has no leadership capabilities and Jones is too rash and doesn't read the game well, he’s at sixes and sevens most of the time.
There is no doubt that they need a proper central midfielder who can boss things. If they don't get their prime target from Juventus and end up with Cleverly, an ageing Carrick and Herrera in midfield, they'll be bullied to fuck again.
Van Gaal may well sort them out but it's not going to happen this season, they'll be delighted with fourth and it will take the scousers capitulating for it to happen. Chelsea and Arsenal are too far ahead of them and we're miles off in the distance.

I might be going off message here but surely the lack of European games means that, like the scousers last year, they should be able to mount a fairly serious challenge in the league...

You have to have a decent team to do that mate and even with the new signings, their team isn't as good as any in last seasons top 4.

I would expect a return to the Ferguson quantity of penalties at crucial times accompanied by a sending off of the best oppo defender within the first quarter. Also, FergieTime will be reinstated if they happen to be a goal adrift or drawing when the game approaches 89 or 90mins.

He's taking over a mediocre squad, this isn't barca or bayern, this is a squad who downed tools on wee davy when they didn't like what he was doing..
They strike me as a collective who don't like change plus they're technically on their 4th manager in a year, they may start off ok but they have form where they go missing in matches, what leaders do they have?
Fuckface has gone to qpr, rugby tackling vidic has jumped ship, French gobshite is halfway out the door too, that's a lot of experience gone with not a lot coming in. Obviously Shaw is the new Roberto Carlos but their defence will be their soft centre next year.
Turtle features won't be weaving his magic there that you can guarantee...

I think you'll find he's the new Duncan Edwards.
