No idea why they boast about the number of English players they have. Only 2 are home grown and if they played for anyone else its argued they wouldn't even be in the England squad. The rest have cost huge money so there is nothing clever or proud to be had from the fact. I would rather have our team with fewer English players in and win titles than finish 7th but boast they have all English players without mentioning the fact they paid well over the odds for most.
Shusshhhhhh. That wouldn't suit the Sky subscribing doctrine. Behave.

Super post, hertsblue.

You know why we don't have many English players?

Cause they aren't good enough for us.

Man Utd might have loads of English players in Jones, Smalling, Cleverley, Young, Zaha and Welbeck... but that's why they finished 7th whilst we were champions.

There's only a handful of English players that would make our squad, let alone starting eleven.

said the same to a moaning rag the other day.

You're up early laying into the rags today sir

Their squad is light in defence and midfield and I'm not buying into the, Rooney has suddenly become the best player on earth myth.
Let them crow from the roof tops, reality will bite soon enough, arsenal & chelsea are the only other contenders for the title, the scum will get 4th at best. Best thing that could have happened was them winning the champions key ring, it has made them giddy and reality will bite hard when the bottom 10 clubs start having a go at them early in the season.

City will win the league and they will once again do the double on the rag shower, no question about it whatsoever...!

They are coveting a player that doesn't even start for Arsenal and yet he would instantly be United's best CB, I think that's a damning indictment to the lack of quality as a back-line.

If they don't sign Vidal or Khedira,Di Maria or Cuadrado and they instead just sign Vermaelen I will be delighted as I honestly believe they'd miss the opportunity of taking Liverpool out of the champions league. I think the love in for Van Gaal would flop if he doesn't finish top 4.

City and Chelsea for top two, (1-2 respectively in my opinion), Arsenal third and Liverpool or United for fourth but unless United bolster with true world class additions they'll fall short.

My problem with the whole media wankfest about these lot is that it might lead teams to be afraid of them again like they were for years. So the west hams and sunderlands of the league will lie down and take one up the arse from them- unlike last season when teams went and attacked them.

If everyone believes they are 'back to their best' or some bullshit, then they'll get free wins again
