If I'm not mistaken, that is a Ferrari air freshener in a Chevrolet.

A fucking Chevrolet....

Which, IMHO, just about sums up MUFC as a club....
It looks like they have the child locks on so he can't get out. He's definitely trying the door :)

Looks petrified, poor sod. All downhill from here. #PrayForTiaMaria

I'd say building a club up like Fergie/United did in the late 80s affords some level of pride. Not to mention that much of our early success was built on players from our academy. To be able to spend in the present through the achievements of that past is remarkable. United has earned its way to the top.

Conveniently ignores the fact that they spent twice their income in the late 80's building their first PL winning team.
Or the way they loaded the financial dice in their favour around that time, and subsequently, to make their rise in the digital age a fait accompli.

I'd like to raise a point. Just the one point.

The below shows the progression of record incoming transfers to British clubs but by one in particular.

2014 £59.7m - #PrayForTiaMaria

2013 £37.1m - Doesn't Mata

2002 £29.1m - Ferdinand

2001 £28.1m - Veron

1995 £7m - Andy Cole

1981 £1.5m - Bryan Robson

1962 £115,000 - Denis Law

Little old City's £32,5m statement of intent of Robinho in 2008 and Steve Daley for £1.45m in 1979 are our only two entries.

The transfer market is becoming stupid. There should be a salary and transfer cap to encourage players to stay, teams to build with what they have etc

I actually think this is a great signing for united. IMO VG knows his defence is too poor to win anything and the best they can do is 5th....so forget about the defence and beef up the attack. Beyond the top 3 or 4 clubs the rest of the league can't punish poor defending often enough and in most cases attacking is your best defence. So the win the league behind the top 4 and then try to draw against the top sides hoping that one of them fall out.

I obviously hope they screw it up but if they could only make one 1 big signing then I think they went for the right guy.

Same strategy that Arsenal has used to come 4th. Their defense should be good enough at least to deal with the midtable/relegation teams. Liverpool last year as well had a pretty poor defense but their attack won them games.

They still need a midfielder to partner Herrera to make that work though. If they have to play Cleverley/Fletcher in midfield on a regular basis they won't have much ability to provide service to their attacking players. I'm surprised they're not after Schneiderlin tbh assuming that they're not still planning on signing Vidal.

Does anybody remember their 8-2 win against the Arse just after we beat Spuds 5-1? It was three years ago and nine of their starting eleven for their opening day defeat against Swansea started that game against the Arse. The youngsters haven't developed and the old guard had gone.
I can't see a repeat of 74, but with teams knowing there's a slight chance of playing eleven rather than twelve they aren't scared when they face the rags and that will lead to some amusement.

Pre 1992 football doesn't exist

Great signing for United. Looks though like they are just ignoring defence and are just going to try and score as many goals as possible. They will have a top quality front line but that is about it, the rest is dogshite.
