Portuguese and Argieball football experts absolutely ripping into Rojo. Saying he was very average before the World Cup and unexpectedly great in the World Cup. Now he may turn out to be a big success, but this has an aura of the classic "buy a World Cup star" transfer, à la El Hadji Diouf.
They're wrong.

He was shit, absolutely shit in the world cup.

definitely agree

This is such a surreal deal.

Rojo is very average and yet United have acted so desperate to get him.

Instead of selling Nani, making some money and getting rid of his salary, they loan him out, paying his £5M salary and pay £16M for Rojo!?

Sporting is literally laughing all the way to the bank. This is one of the most ridiculous deals I have seen.

Do any lurking rags on here know if rojo is their 3rd or 4th choice transfer target??
With mangala and benatia and blind snubbing ragworld was just wondering..
Thanks in advance...

They've bought him due to getting 2 for 1. cb & lb. They have these deals when you shop at lidl, quite a lot.
He's a "utility player". Fucking toilet.

Clearly their first choice - as he is going to the swamp it will be revealed that as he grew up In Urmston all he wanted to do was play for the Rags- he has in fact come thru the academy system there and these so called " fees" are in fact charitable donations made by the Rags to other random clubs in recognition of yet another marvelous product of their youth system making it to the 1st team - you are all just cynics !!

Stock Exchange statement: United pay initial €10m for Rojo to Sporting of which €4m goes to Spartak Moscow. Then 2 instaments of €5m.

But I thought they had £150 mill floating around...

yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh right.

thats not the united way.

They only buy when there's value in the market they never overpay its on their DNA.

Rojo was shit at the World Cup, and the fact only Southampton were in before United tells us all we need to know.
