Re: City fans - would you actually like to see United fold?

It would be funny as fuck at first, in fact, for a long time.

However, I enjoy the rivalry. I like hating the cünts. A good healthy rivalry is something special in this sport.

So, with United becoming less of a force in recent seasons (to be ridiculously polite), i've been thinking about this for a while now; would I, as a Blue, like/want to see MUFC go out of business?

my answer has to be no i'm afraid.

There were rumours at the season's kick off that another year out of the Champs League would see major sponsors at the Swamp get jittery and begin to pull out. There would probably still be huge amounts of cash at the club to attempt to rescue the situation but if there were 3, even 4 seasons, without the CL, you'd have to think their whole model would begin to collapse, top funders would lose interest.

So, i for one would love to see them suffer for a few years more - even a little stint in the 2nd and 3rd tiers would be welcome - but would i want to see them go out of business? no, sorry i wouldnt, there's a lot to be said about rivalries.

Ridiculous question.

Yes I'd like to see it turned into a car park.

I'd like them to be shit for ages and then go under.

I'd love to see them become the equivalent of Bradford Park Avenue, sharing a ground with Stockport County, with OT turned into a Sainsburys.

Re: The Dog & Duck Pub Team (aka United) Thread 2014/15

I'd like to see them drop a division and see how loyal these diehard plastic fans really are..
They was suicidal last season under wee davy, many refusing to go to the swamp and the shiny red seats started showing up for lots of home matches..
I used to think utd fans was the real deal, turning up in their millions for every match, always packing the swamp out, the endless convoy of coaches rolling in from all corners of the country to cheer their home town club on..
Then last year it suddenly happened... These utd fans , who for years and years mocked us for being bitter and fickle and only singing if we won, had turned into the same fan they laughed at us for being but had gone that extra yard and taken bitterness to a whole new level.
So as an answer to the question, I wouldn't want them going bump, I'd like them to tread water and stagnate mid table for a few years, if only to make football phone ins turn into comedy hour when plastic dave from Kent can't believe operation armchair fan is going down the pan.

This; with Hereford United being bought by a billionaire just as the combover ticket tout is reading the winding-up order.
