He's been a flop. So has Mata, so has shaw. These were expensive acquisitions that haven't fulfilled their potential. There's no denying that. Our most prolific acquisitions (Aguero, Silva and Toure) have been very successful. That's a fact.
And still the Turtle headed elephant in the room is there. All these supposedly great players ( Falcao, Di Maria, Van Persil, Mata, Herrera) & those with great potential (Shaw, JizzyJam) & none of them performed on a consistent basis, in fact they all under performed. Rag loving press are like hyenas, not until he is fatally injured will any of them turn on Van Pulis despite the glaringly obvious failure he has made in motivating 'talented' players.

It has emerged Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal had a non-too-pleasant surprise for his players when they returned from their pre-season tour of the United States last Thursday.

After spending 18 days away from home, the United squad found their return to their families had been delayed - by an additional training session.

the United players were not too happy at the prospect of spending more time on the training ground after the number of double sessions they were put through in the USA.

When De Gea leaves will Romero actually be their No. 1 or are they in the market for another player?

4 times and you still admit you didn't read anything about the transfer except the fee you saw in the paper. You're not Nick Leeson are you?
So the simplistic way is the balance sheet WON'T show the fact United paid FIFA £3.2m, bringing the yearly loss to nearly £7m? Hope it's picked up on the FFP check. ;-)

4 times and you still don't understand. I went off the fee and the fee alone because that's the basis that has become the norm on here when talking about our own in's and out's. Nobody talks about additional fees for other players, mainly because it's generally very complex and we're not privy to that kind of knowledge for the majority of deals so i didn't mention it here for the sake of continuity. Any other fee's paid, be it to FIFA or anybody will obviously be shown on the balance sheet, but they'll be shown elsewhere, (a one off payment to FIFA would of been paid in full and accounted for in the year of purchase and wouldn't actually appear on this years accounts) and it's never been something mentioned when discussing any of our players so why take the rag-like approach and mention it here but not anywhere else just because it makes them look even worse? There's plenty to laugh at them about as it is without turning to their tactics.

Easiest way out of this. The rags paid £59.7m (or agreed to) and PSG have paid (or agreed to) around £44.3m = £15.4m LOSS.
That's without FIFA, Bonuses etc.
That's what the papers would be full of if City were the selling club.

Well, that's one way of looking at it. However, if you take that tack then you'd have to say City lost £26m on the Milner transfer. We paid £26m for him, and he left for free. That's why the amortisation approach makes more sense.
