Over on Rag Cafe a few were getting quite giddy at the possibility of overtaking Real Madrid on turnover when next year's accounts come out.Their mood darkened when it was suggested we might overtake them when we announce this year's figures!

Everyone knows how the extra revenue is been generated though, so I doubt City themselves will be shouting from the rooftops about it, it's almost embarrassing for them.

We better get used to those jibes, because they will be here for a long time.

Nice to see the Glazers are going to be taking nearly £16m out of the club, annually, as a share dividend!

"This is rubbing salt into the wound," said Manchester United Supporters' Trust vice-chairman Sean Bones.

"Profits from the club should go back into it."

It's like they just don't get it. THIS is why the Glazers bought United, to screw them for every penny they could. They're not here as benevolent owners, or to improve United, they're here to make money.

To be fair Sheikh M. bought City via ADUG which is an investment vehicle for him. How far the investment is likely to go is the real question because a return on his total investment must at some stage be in the Business Plan.

City beat FFP by demonstrating that it was not unplanned funding via the Sheikh's bottomless cash pot and that they had a Business Plan to balance income against expenditure ie generate profit which is the whole idea of investment.
How the Glazer's distribute that profit is surely up to them and is not unusual, that's what they and others who invest do.
The owners of all the other Clubs usually have earned their investment cash elsewhere or borrow it to buy then see football as a cash cow for their personal shareholding.

We are lucky that our owner is still in his investment phase, its just that he can use his own money rather than pay a Bank interest for the use of that investment cash.

I think you'll find it's 15m to each of his six kids. That's £90m, plus whatever dividend other minor shareholders like the GPC are due, and of course repayments and interest on the debt. Happy days.

90 million in pay outs to the Glazers! That surely could be put to better use on the next transfer deadline day on some random youngster who's supposed to be the next Danny Welbeck.

Our owners are amazing, astute business people unrivaled in the game, past or present!!

The Glazers however are also very good business people they have managed the debt (debt in business is no bad thing), they have had a period of success and have agreed funds to be spent to help acheive that success.

They have the highest wage bill, highest net spend, if Bale, Muller etc. where available and wanted to drop a level and go to United it's pretty obvious the money would be found. So if whilst providing this the revenue also allows for interest payments and dividend, then I don't really see what business it is of MUST etc. to comment.

Comparing them to our owners they will always come up short but that is the case for everyone!!

There was a period where the Glazer's business model impacted a lot on Utd. Ferguson kept the winning machine running, but the squad which he handed over to Moyes was on its last legs. If the Glazers had not taken over Utd, I think they could have been the pre-eminent club in Europe as it is they are a big name based on their past, but that aura does not last forever. Now they don't seem to be hampered by the debt burden, but their standing in the game has fallen so that this Summer they struggled to attract their top targets, and the only star man they got was Schweinsteiger who looks well past his best.

Woodward was quoted as telling investors that the transfer spend seen at Utd was unlikely to be repeated again in coming seasons. That should worry Utd fans because despite their spending, their squad is full of holes. At this moment they don't look like a top 4 team, but the other Premiership clubs are not convincing either

The advantage we have is the "prestige" element of Sheikh Mansour owning Manchester City. The Glasers have one motive, to make as much money from Manchester United as possible, the Sheikh on the other hand intends on using the reflective glory of Manchester City success to draw attention to, and investment to, Abu Dhabi as a whole. A successful Manchester City means a higher profile, which in turn means Abu Dhabi is seen in a good light, and attracts investment in the area. The Sheikh won't bankroll us for eternity, but he doesn't need to, we've already made huge leaps forward on the commercial front and, with increased prize money, and TV deals, City's profitability seems as secure as it can be for a professional football team. I don't foresee a scenario whereby ADUG start taking dividends from City and farm club generated profits into the pockets of people in the Middle East, or into other commercial ventures.
