I think this is right - they created additional shares and sold them.

Of course Sky owned a chunk until 1999 (I think) and the two were a symbiote to whore Star TV in the far east. That got the sponsorships rolling.

I'd totally forgotten about Sky part owning United.

Sky owned nearly 10% of us for a while
It was part of their business strategy to own as much of each PL club as possible, so that when the PL voted on which tv deal to accept, it would be Sky

Keane has laid in to Young for his diving! I have some level of respect for Keane in that he speaks his crazy mind, he can’t stop himself from sticking the knife in. A lot of Rags fans have completely turned on him even though he must have been there most successful captain of all time.
