can't argue with that. As you say the hype sound their title tilt that year was like having Thatcher back and seeing the herald of free enterprise sailing into view - back to the 80's la.It's changed I guess, City are much more "direct" rivals, but wanting City to win title over Liverpool was genuine, think of it as a quick death (you'd already won PL) vs endless torture (Liverpool's first PL win and the inevitable over the top shit we'd all have to put up with from dippers).
Edit : Id suggest that the sickening Gerrard wankfest that ensued in the media as the campaign drew to a close caused many neutrals to feel this way too.
