Was talking to one at work the other week. He started to talk about history, spending money they earned and not having a 'sugar daddy'. I obviously explained how no club in history hadn't lived beyond their means at some point and how his team were bankrolled, more than once. I told him how his beloved rags were on the verge of bankruptcy in 1931 and without a cash handout, they were gone, as well as the other nefarious stories many don't seem to be aware of.
He then gave me the one answer I hadn't ever thought of and, to be fair to him, had no reply to. With a completely straight face he said: "When I say history, I don't mean history from that far back". Brilliant.....

All the bullshit fed him over the past year coming out of him I'd say..

Looks like he was out on the lash last night, they'll be bigging him up to be "the next George best" now no wonder

Yep, I had the same sort of discussion with an arse fan , mostly about Fizsman's contribution to their recent sucesses (relatively) and was told that history has nothing to do with the present.

Bunch of self-entitled arrogant tossers. Wonder when they'll finally wake up and smell the coffee that they're no longer "The biggest club in the world" as they still continually love to profess. They mock Liverpool fans for living off their past glories; yet ironically their fanbase does the exact same thing these days!

The United Way = Shite drab football filled with false promises.

Here's to a miserable 2016 raggies!

Rumours they may try for Stones in Jan.

I think attacking players is more of a priority.

Their defenders has flattered to deceive and is now being found out even with the mass possession game.
The timing also coincides with how long i think it would take to "suss out" such a style and counter it. Not to mention De Gea looking slightly shaky recently.
I do not disagree attack is dire but the defense is not much good either.

tl;dr they need a major purchase in both areas, i do mean major as in no less than 50m in each position.

What happened to that photoshopped banner where the rags had crossed out every player they were supposed to have signed?

They'll say they've made an enquiry for Stones and get a 12 year old Algerian for 30 mill.

I really now think it is not Woodward's fault. It seems to me he was hired with the main focus on off field activity.
This is a reasonable assumption considering his background. He is however as stated "dogshit" regarding the area where the main focus should be.
It feels like he is stoking the engines of a sinking ship instead of plugging the holes.

Bless you Glazers, bless you all for eternity.
Agreed. He was def not brought in to be the transfer hit man.Long may it continue tho.
comedy gold.£58 million for a kid who can barely outscore wayne rubesch in the twilight of his career, you could not make it up.

To be fair to a lot of them they are starting to tackle this reality. The fans at redcafe to a degree are and real life mates already do but will not give me the satisfaction of saying it outright.
Many are still in rawkland though delusion wise and i like it. The dynamic of the club as a whole falling is almost voyeuristic to pay any reasonable attention to.
I often wondered what it would be like when they fell and it is every bit as satisfying as i hoped.

Their pick 'n mix history game truly is a sight to behold.

Surprisingly, there isn't wall to wall hate for our players on there. I've seen several threads on there in recent years, where they say the majority of our players seem a likeable bunch. They only seem to hate the shampoo salesman (!) and Nasri. Probably Sterling now as well. They hate us fans, but hey ho; I'll live with that.

To hate 'iccle citeh would be to admit the tables have turned. Its the same as the dippers 'hating' Stirling or villa fans hating delph- its easier than facing the reality of their own situation
