Plenty. Maine Road derby in the autumn of the 86/87 season, springs to mind. Both teams in bottom three. It's incredible how as fans many of us have lost such perspective since 2008. 'For ever' is a very long time.

Just looked it up (as I had a hunch) and we had won 2 out of 12 league games going into the final game of the 73/74 season. Given united's final position that season, I can't imagine their record being much better. Whatever both clubs' respective league form at the moment, it won't even come close to the tail end of 73/74.
