I wouldn't expect then to be down there for more than a couple of seasons!Maybe for the first season and selected cup games.

Have said that about plenty of clubs in the past myself and been badly wrong, if you're bad enough to go down, you're bad enough to stay down, especially with the damage it would do to their revenue and the level of debt at the club. All hypothetical and unlikely to happen though unfortunately... :(I wouldn't expect then to be down there for more than a couple of seasons!
There's nothing you've posted there I can disagree with tbf.I was impling more that the majority of football fans watch their team because it is their team and not because they win week in week out. When Pearce was our manager and the football was shite, we still followed our club. It was torture but he kept us in the league. As we are like a lot of other clubs, we have had our share of relegations and promotions. This had until recently toughened the fans up and we coped with our macabre humour.
The majority of the rags have only ever seen winning at all cost football and just like l'Arse dont have the ability to cope. This moment in time is the rags worst nightmare. Just as they are reverting to how they were between 69 and 91 we are playing breath taking football and we should win the league and are favourites for chumps league.

Relegation would change that imo mate, very hard to convince yourself "next year is the year" when you're not even in said competition that year. I've had a good laugh already at the amount of Irish rags that can no longer be bothered to go over to matches (the big reason imo that they can't sell cup games out), buy merchandise or even watch them on tv. That's what 4 seasons of finishing 7th, 4th, 5th and 6th have done to them.It has been clear for a long time that the Rags / Dippers especially, have collected " supporters " because of their successes in the past. Whilst it will be killing them to see our progress, they wont jump ship soon imo, as they will believe that return is only round the corner - whether it be true or not .

Yeah as I said in an earlier post all hypothetical and extremely unlikely, if Carlsberg did football seasons though...Hypothetical imo because neither of them are relegation material " in my lifetime " ...................??
