For all the talk of the progress he's apparently made and how they are now "back", they are only 4 points better off than last season having spent a shit ton of money. And he's been knocked out the League Cup.

The only "progress" is that they won a terrible CL group because they luckily drew the worst Pot 1 team in years, whose 12 year old keeper repeatedly threw the ball into the net against them. They still managed to lose to the mighty Basel.

I watched the game - when Utd aren't winning there's no guile, no one-twos on the edge of the box or slick passing, it's just a case of lump/cross it into the box and wait for a lucky ricochet or bad clearance.
