Looks like they've broken uefa rules though by not offering Seville the minimum amount of tickets for this tie, according to Seville themselves. And they've been reported to uefa who are investigating.

Could get interesting this one, don't think they are wrong for highlighting the prices Seville are charging but in the end if Seville don't subsidise also then it is the Spanish fans who are directly coughing up to have allowed rag fans to go to Spain for their game for less, not the club.
The ruling states that the can only charge away fans the same as the home fans in that stand.
At the swamp away fans have the corner, a separate stand so you can charge as you please. However they also give you a section of the old Main Stand. If they charged £89 for that section they would have to charge everyone in that stand £89 too.
Wouldn't surprise if they haven't offered that section which would then bring the allocation down to about 2500 and below the limit set.

'Citeh'

Always brings a smile to my face when I read this on united forums. They never get pulled on it either, which is no surprise when your mods are from Leeds/London etc

There's many instances where Spanish clubs do this, it's not exclusive to Spanish teams but they're the worst for it, fans and clubs complain, nothing happens. Clubs even subsidise the cost on occasions, particularly the German clubs but year on year the same thing happens. Now that their own fans will have to cough up the extortionate fees too it might finally give them something to think about and perhaps dissuade clubs from charging that much in the first place. A good move from them in my eyes, if it was city, we'd be applauding them for looking out for us.

I know where you're coming from but 2 wrongs don't make a right, they could have took the moral stance here and not charged the Seville fans any more than their own fans. It's not like the rags couldn't afford to subsidise their own fans travelling out there is it? They could get get a new orange juice sponsor to fund it.

Agreed. Credit where credit is due.

I can't imagine our club going in to bat for us like this.

Interesting, and very plausible. Can see their defence of safety concerns being prepared already. Apparently they've offered around 2900 tickets only, so sounds likely this is the case.
