United thread 2017/18

This thread is soo fucking cringey. Scraping the bottom of the barrel looking for reasons as to why they are not a threat to us this season with things like opposition had a few shots on target so they will lose when they play better teams.. They are playing well, save all end is nigh bollocks spouting for when they're not.

The biggest joke is that the rags' pot 1 team, Benfica, lost at home to CSKA and last night got battered by Basel. All working out nicely for the rags to top the group and in the last 16 draw some overachievers who finished second in their group. Last time they made the last 16 (4 seasons ago) they drew a shit Olympiakos side (at home second leg of course) and only just managed to stumble past them.

We better top the group and get a chance to draw CSKA in the 'Round of 16'.

Tbh, we don't know whether they will be a threat to us, but on current showing, if they are, we are fighting for 4th place.

They didn't play well, at all, v Everton or Southampton, which are their most recent Premier League games, so why shouldn't people be unimpressed with them ? For decent periods of those games, they got bossed by two of the currently worst, out of form, attacking teams in the Prem & created very few chances themselves. 'Comfortable' they were not. That, plus games v sht teams in the cups, is all we have to go on.

I figured Utd would be our main challengers this season but in actual fact, so far, they don't look good enough, nor as good as Chelsea nor Spurs & it's hard to find a case for them having played better than Liverpool, just had a bit better fortune. Whether that changes I don't know, but it's the truth right now, behind the hype.

I watched a recording of the rags game & CSKA were, in all absolute truth, dogshit beyond anyone has right to be, for a team playing in the Champions League. Celtic would have beaten CSKA by a similar score on the night. They still should have scored more than one goal v the rags though, the openings were there.

It wasn't a game on which to rate the chances of a team regarding challenging for the Prem.

You missed the point there.

His point was that we are derided for our defending whilst they are held up as an example of a solid defence and yet we've face fewer shots on target.

Not sure how you failed to understand that.

Great insight there, Dory.

I wasn't targeting a particular post so not even sure which one you are referring to.

It's just one of the common themes on this thread after one of their matches... That the team they played were shit but still managed to have a few chances to score.

What a fucking pathetic, rag sucking, stupid, fucking post.

I gather you didn't watch the fucking City game ragboy ?

If winning a game 4-0 is counted as 'not playing well at all' then I can't wait for us to turn the corner. You know, when all these cannon-fodder teams run out, and we get to play someone proper. But then again, we will only win those games if the referee lets us. And we can also learn how to un-park the bus and start scoring goals again after this 28 goal drought we are currently stuck in.

They're fucking thick aren't they, we had 10 men for 50 odd minutes and battered them in every aspect expect score more, he'll compare scores v some other team from the Carabou cup next and tell us they're on the fucking up whilst we're struggling. It's like us saying we're head and shoulders above them if they don't score 5 v Palace this week.

Spurs must be better than both as they beat Everton at Goodison park with an even better performance.

You didn't play well and if you think you did it shows how far you've fallen. Everton were fucking woeful yet De Gea still had to save your bacon on numerous occasions and only a complete capitulation by the toffees defence in the last 5 minutes gave you the score line you're now knocking one out over.

You're shite, played 1 half decent team, Stoke, and drew.
